I had ordered a Leupold Mark 4 MRT 1.5-5 x 20mm with the 300.BLK reticle. Through no fault of Optics Planet, Leupold couldn't deliver and after about two months I canceled it and on 5/15/2012 I purchased the Leupold VX-R 1.25-4x20mm Matte Riflescope, Fire Dot Pig Plex Reticle 113165. Fast, intact shipping. I'm glad I didn't hold out for the other scope because this was MUCH less expensive and I'm very pleased with it. Mounted on a CMMG .300 BLK flat top upper, set-up was easy with the Leupold recommended base/rings. Laser bore sited at 25 yds. to get on paper then stretched it out to 100 yds....

Good Lpvo for an AR or lever gun

I've had this scope for years and it has been a great scope for an Ar or use on a brush gun. If you have a lever gun, this scope is a fantastic choice.
The center dot is a little too big for precision shooting, but for a 1+ moa rifle its fine. The illumination works great. The auto shut off will keep the battery going for a long time.

  • hunting

AR Pistol Dream

This is a great optic to mount on an AR platform. I put on my .300 blackout. Perfect Quality I expect from Leupold. Crystal clear. Accurate, adjustable.....I love it on this gun. I use this as a coyote/brush gun on a 1000 acre Hunting Property in East Tennessee. Lots of varying terrain and weather conditions. This scope is a great companion to the 350 yard range of my .300 blackout. Worth every penny.

Multiple Applications

One of the best optic designs for woods/thick hunting. Have 3, one mounted on a Henry 45-70 AW, TC 460 ProHunter and 3rd AR Eagle 300 BLK. I prefer the green dot over the red, personal preference, two eye acquisition perfect. Normal set is the low end then dial it up for a "peek see", these Leupold optics will take a hit, looking to purchase a 4th for my TC ProHunter 20ga turkey gun. Only wish Leupold produced this scope with long eye relief, would set one on my S&W 460 XVR. Battery life is better then I expected as well. Would I recommend the optic ……... resounding YES.

Awesome!!!

Perfect scope for my 338wm. The red firedot makes a big difference then a normal scope. Faster line up with the target. Great in low light conditions especially up in alaska where the big bears roam. I will definitely buy this again for the next big bore rifle.

Leupold VX-R 1.5-4x

Very nice scope with crystal clear sights and crisp adjustment measures. Functions exactly as the description says it does. Did not realize until shooting with this scope the BIG difference in speed in lining up your target w/ the red dot.

Hard to beat the glass at this price point

No, it doesn't have a large zoom range. No, it doesn't go down to a true 1x (not that Leupold says it does). No, the battery doesn't last for years on end. But at this price point, you will be very hard pressed to find another scope with such clarity, lack of distortion and color aberration. I have also experienced first hand Leupold's lifetime warranty and it is truly trouble free. Optics Planet has very competitive prices and is an official distributor. You just can't go wrong with this combination.

20 MM with good light gathering.

My larger Leupold FireDot (2x7-33mm VX-R) is simply too large for my Marlin 1895 .45-70 as I quickly learned when I got it on the bridge of my nose. But I loved the FireDot feature and moved it to a lower recoil setup. The VX-R 1.25-4-20 with it's 30mm tube didn't sacrifice much light gathering ability in low light situations and is a perfect fit for the intended rifle. Very good deer and pig scope in combination with a big bore for low light under 150 yard work. You will like the FireDot at low intensity settings for those situations.

Nice scope

My go to scope for AR's and medium range guns.
Clear optics and can shoot with both eyes open on lowest setting.
Red dot is very useful on black hogs when dark, the black reticle seem to wash out.
Auto off and movement sensor on is great!
