I own many brands of scopes but leupold is still my ole reliable. This particular scope, (4.5x14x50mm LR), was bought for a 338 win mag that hits hard and needs the assurance of a rock solid scope. Leupold has always fulfilled that niche and I have many examples, some of which are more than 40 years old. I shop my optics only at optics planet based upon the selection, price, customer service and shipping care. They too have a standing reputation of excellence with me! The leupold brand has stood the test of time, quality and customer service. There are more expensive scopes out there that I like as much as this one, but I can't say that there are any that offer a better optic picture than the VX-3, even when compared to the big brother VX-6. I demand several things in all my hunting scopes, 50mm objectives, side focus adjustment and the standard plex reticile. Many argue that a 50mm objectives isn't necessary and that side focus on a hunting scope is a waste of time. For me, I'm sticking with what has proven successful while hunting dawn and dusk conditions that make all these accessories invaluable. Outstanding!! Excellent clarity and versatility. Very clear at any magnification. Lifetime warranty and a lifelong purchase. Save money on other things but don't skimp on your optics. I highly recommend a Leupold scope for the money - you'll get what you pay for.

Bought this for my rifle! It's an amazing optic for the price!!!!!! I looked into a few others and no one could compare to the quality of this glass!!!! Took it out to the range and was able to see very long distance! High quality product! Leupold always delivers!!!

This scope has enough magnification for hunting and is very clear and bright, however I don't like the reticule choices, I would get one with a mil dot in future. The knobs are very nice and hand turn style with the scope also being very compact.

I presently own 2 of these and have them on my mark-v 340by and 270 wby ecellent for long distance shooting and for those moments of low light or cloudy skies with not so favorable light conditions, it allow me to clearly visualize my game and make that accurate well placed shot with my rifles.
Highly recomended them and also made is the great USA with an excellent warranty and repair policies, yes I must say that Im very proud owner of 8 diff types of Leupold with one of my very first one bouth in 1983 amd still going and on my favorite BAR 30/06 .
