Great product and just what I wanted. I just got back into casting and shooting cast rifle bullets and wanted a lube sizer that has a heater too soften the lube. This product works perfect and although I did not order the heater when I bought the product (thought I had one to fit) I recommend buying the sizer with the heater as one purchase package.

This tool from Lyman is well thought out. It's built tough and will last a very long time.
It comes ready to size and lube right out of the box.The lube heater is simple but effective.
One easy stoke of the handle and you've got a sized and lubed cast bullet to be proud of.

There is a youtube video that I found that really made the alignment of the locking screw for the die a breeze to set up. Lower the handle, after inserting the die and putting the screw on top, just to the point of meeting. This will align the screw so it goes in straight, and doesn't get cross threaded. Easy to change dies. I cut my lub sticks in half so I don't have to wait till I'm all the way at the end to insert a new one. I just back off the screw, remove the cap, and insert half a stick, and keep on cranking out those boolits.
Pros: Quick, easy to change dies and top punch.
Cons: Getting the cap screw, that holds the die in place, started without crossthreading

Have been using an old 450 model. Switching to the new 4500 was a dramatic improvement, especially with the heater for use in a cold garage setting.
Pros: Rugged, durable, efficient
Cons: None

This is a piece of junk. Optics Planet doesn't have it in stock - Even though they will tell you that they do. It took three weeks to arrive, when it did it was obviously a return from someone else. The throw bar was bent the instructions were rumpled dirty and torn and it had half a stick of lube already melted into it. I contacted lyman and they sent me a NEW undamaged one.I wouldn't waste your time buying from here.
Pros: None that I know of
Cons: This is a piece of junk

I was sizing 9 mm hollow points from a M-P Molds mold in it and discovered that the extractor was not pushing the bullet all the way out enough for me to get a hold of it. I put a shim in the u shaped part at the bottom so it would push the extractor further and it works. These are the only bullets I have sized, so I don't know if this is unique to these bullets, or if it will happen to other bullets also. Only a minor problem easily fixed.
Pros: Easy to use, easy to set up
Cons: The pusher that pushes the bullet back out of the sizer is not long enough.

After heating the harder lubes this is a fantastic unit. My only issue is the return push rod is about 1/8 of an inch short so if you are doing short bullets you need to put something between the rod ad the lower loop bracket. I called Lyman and they said they had a couple of customer calls about this but didn't have a solution.
Pros: Easy to use
Cons: Return push rod needs to be a little longer
