Most Helpful Positive Review Great press
This press is very heavy duty and very easy to set up and I cut my reloading time down a significant amount . I keep .308 dies setup and even use a case activated powder drop on it for .308 and still have 3 open for my other reloading great product
Most Helpful Negative Review Budget Turret Press
I use the All-American 8 to reload 9mm. The press has very little up and down movement in the turret head during operation. It definitely has less play than my progressive LNL and 550. However, the priming and de-priming systems are not designed very well. I do not use the priming system anymore...

Great Turret press

by Specter7, Verified Owner from CA, United States Written on June 23, 2024
This a solid press. I use it for processing (resizing 308 and 223) brass, and it does the job.
Pros:
  • Ability to switch between different resizing dies.
  • Ability to switch easily between different resizing dies. Solid construction.
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • Multiple uses.

Lyman Turret Press

by Cris, from OK, United States Written on May 15, 2022
I’ve been looking at the Lyman for some time. I found it at Optic Planet for a great price, so I ordered one. I was not disappointed. This press is rock solid and built like a tank. Smooth, no movement what so ever. I should have bought one years ago. I will definitely recommend this press and Optics Planet to anyone looking for solid quality reloading equipment.

Price was nice Press is very nice

by Garry Talley, Verified Owner from KY, United States Written on April 2, 2022
This was the best price on this press and free shipping on an item that weighs as much as this press was a great deal. I got to use a coupon on this order they gave me from the last order bringing the price down even more. Optics Planet gives you credit towards your next order when making purchases and even coupons that are good for larger orders. Don't expect to get shipping notifications of arrival time from shipper when getting free shipping. Having said that my press did arrive in a reasonable time considering. You will want to make an account so that you will get credit for a discount of future orders. I will be using this press mostly to clear up space in my reloading area with things like a powder measure, collet bullet puller and universal de-capping dies left in, and I will have other stations available just to single stage anything I may want to. I have a Dillon that I have set up for most all of my loading. Having said that with this 8-station press one could set it up for multiple cartridges and use it just fine. Lots of great videos on YouTube with this press.
Pros:
  • Quality, Price, Easy to Use, Free Shipping
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • Reloading

Very good press but only one issue.

by Gabe321, Verified Owner from CA, United States Written on March 10, 2022
This is a very good press for reloading your rounds of ammunition, very sturdy and solid. Just make sure you have a solid base to mount it on since this is a hefty press. The only issue this press has is the priming on the press, it's kind of finicky, primers get jammed. You might have to invest into an alternative in priming if you're not willing to deal with this set back. Besides that this is a great press for reloading your custom ammunitions.
Pros:
  • solid press
Cons:
  • primer system
Best Used for:
  • reloading ammunition

Lyman turret

by Brass Smith 8, from IL, United States Written on February 24, 2022
This press is excellent. I like to single stage my ammo. This press works great as a single stage with progressive like benefits. No need to keep changing dies. Increase of productivity and tighter tolerances. Use it for .45 and 9mm. Going to buy another head for my rifles.

Brass Smith 8 torrent press

by Tommy, from PA, United States Written on February 23, 2022
I think this is a really nice press I've heard people complain about the primer on it but I don't have a problem with that primer it's just use a little common sense and don't let it snap back by itself and you won't have any problems at all withit
Pros:
  • Easy to set up once you have it adjusted you're good to go you don't have to mess with it again with the exception of if you change bullet weights and stuff like that you might have to change your seating depth but that's a bottle
Cons:
  • None

Reloading press

by Nelsonk11, from CT, United States Written on January 12, 2022
Great press value at any press and very fair price compared to others. Smooth and accurate operation. The convenience of being able to use multiple dies on same turret is superb. Extra turrets are well priced make the system even easier for other calibers.

Can't go wrong with Lyman Brass Smith 8 Turret Press

by Rooster, from UT, United States Written on January 9, 2022
I bought this press when it first came out and have reloaded in the neighborhood of about 5,500 rounds of different calibers of pistol and rifle with the press, I bought 3 extra turrets heads and put all of the calibers I use on these, I also bought extra powder measures and use a powder through die and use all 8 holes, It looks kind of busy when you look at the set up, but it works great, I made my own turret head stands for the other 3 turrets, a wooden dowel and a 2" x 6" x 6" square piece of scrap wood. The turrets only have 2 holes for the turn handle when it really needs 4, the priming system is okay but are getting worn from use, I will probably have to buy some new ones soon, 1 primer system came with the press and I purchased 2nd so I have one for large primers and one for small primers, that way I am not changing between the large and small primer parts, I just unbolt the primer slide with the one I need. The primer tube sets to close to the turret head, system needs set back the primer tube at least 3 inches past the turret head. The primer catch basin does not catch all of the spent primers. The press is as tight as the first day, no slop in the pins or the ram, I keep everything cleaned and well-oiled with no problems. There are a few nuisances in the design of the priming system but nothing one can't work around. This is still a great reliable reloader and I would recommend to anyone, I use this press along with the other 2 older Lyman Spar T turret presses that...

Great finishing press for prepped brass.

by John, from FL, United States Written on November 28, 2021
I have a Hornady LNL progressive that I use for 9mm, but I bought this press for the rest of my calibers. I use a couple of lee challenger presses for prep. I deprime all of my brass with a universal decapper in one of the challengers, then wet tumble with stainless pins. Brass is then resized using the other challenger. I prime with a hand tool and bag up my brass in lots. Most of my pistol loading and all of my 300 BO is using cast bullets (300 is subsonic) so I have this press set up with a powder through expanding die and a seating die for each of 300BO, 44 mag, 45LC, and 38 Special. When I start dropping loaded rounds it's very fast and this is really the only part of the process where I have to pay close attention to what I'm doing.
Pros:
  • Capacity. Solid.
Cons:
  • The primer setup really does suck.
Best Used for:
  • a load you use often
