This item looks great and when loaded and released freely in your hands, it works perfectly. The problem is when one inserts the bullets into the revolver cylinder, the twist knob will not turn. It isn't hanging up on my grip. It looks like the bullets need to expand their radius sum, but aren't allowed to being confined within the cylinder. The engineers at Pachmayr need to take another look.

I ordered 2 of these, and one works, the other works but does not hold the bullets snugly. The good unit has an o-ring installed in the base that presses against the bottom of the bullets when the release is locked to hold. The bad unit is missing this o-ring so the lock holds the bullets but they are not immobilized and have a good couple millimeters play in their seats.
The good unit is perfect and works well, and the bad unit works but is really annoying when the bullets are rattling around in their seats.
Pros:
Cool design and light weight
Cons:
poor quality control

This seems to be well designed and made with very good materials. When it is fully loaded the release is a little stiff but improves with use. I purchased it for use with a S&W model 649 .367 mag equipped with Crimson Trace Laser grips. It performs well with no interference from the grips as others have commented.
Pros:
well constructed and light weight
Cons:
None

Works perfectly with my SP101, J frame, and LCR. Solid build and the price is right. Not sure whats going on with the other reviewers' speedloaders but I'm not having any of the issues mentioned. Going to pick up the other models in the future for my other revolvers.
Pros:
Price
solid construction

I tried this on Smith & Wesson Models 49, 637, and 638. It took too much finesse to avoid cylinder release and actually get shells into cylinder, then it was too difficult to hold cylinder and turn difficult-to-turn release. I've used speed loaders like this on larger revolvers and had no trouble. Have yet to find one that works well on J frames. Gonna try speed strips.

This said it would fit a SP101 and it did not. Your experience may vary but, it didn't work for me. I got Safariland speed comp 1 and they fit perfect. I tried and tried again but to no avail. I have Pachmayr diamond grips, they did not get in the way, this does have a very slim profile which is why I got them in the first place. Optics Planet did take care of the issue so if you want to try them get them here and if it doesn't work at least you got it from a good company that will help fix your problem.
