Right Tool for the Job
These Ranger floor plates are a great design and definitely make the job of pulling a full mag out of the storage bag a lot easier with an firm hand-hold. They seem a bit expensive given the overall price of the Magpul PMAGs, but that is the supply/demand model at work. Very easy to install and remove when it's time to clean the mag's internals. Magpul needs to get more of the non-black color (sand, green, flat dark earth) Ranger floor plates into the marketplace, since black seems to be the only available color. In summary, I have installed these on all of my 5.56mm and 7,62mm PMAGs and they ...

We’ve come a long way from 550 cord & 100mph tape!
Love these things! Quick and easy to change, a firm and durable handle for extracting the magazine from a tight pouch and, come on. They look cool as ice! I’ve put these on all my mags and installing was easier than loading rounds. Optics Planet always makes it easy and affordable to purchase and take delivery with coupons, PlanetBucks, and affordable shipping options.

Surprisingly useful
I was gifted a three pack of these and I gotta say, they look cool. But more importantly, they are very functional, especially shooting off hard slick surfaces. I wouldn’t put them on every magazine, but they do have their place.

- cost

Ranger plate upgrade
This is a great upgrade to MAGPUL’s LR/SR GEN M3 magazines. Super easy to replace the original plate and very practical to sell this product as a set of three. This magazine Is the same one used in the RUGER Precision Rifle for both the 6mm Creedmoor and 6.5mm Creedmoor calibers.

Magpul ranger plate
I was sceptical at first but after I purchased and installed these I am surprised at the amount of protection and cushion for mag drops. Before I would always have 1 round pop out of my mags and every now and then get a few chips that were killing mags fast, after the install no rounds were lost and no chips or scratches on the mags that will eventually make the fail.

Perfect for short magazines, or to hang mags with a carabiner hook
If you have a short 5 or 10 round magazine, there's not much to grab when it comes time to eject. Tougher with gloves. These provide a place to grab those short magazines.
You can also use a carabiner to hang short or even long mags off you, a bag, a sling, etc. Beware they might make a 30 or 40 round mag hang too long to shoot prone or off a bench.
Easy to install. The PMAGs have a button in the center of the Floorplate. Push that button in the flat floor plate to slide the flat plate off. This is so you can disassemble to clean and service the magazine. Wear safety glasses. When you slide the plate off, keep a finger over it so the spring does not go flying.
Assembly is the reverse of disassembly. Slide the Ranger Floorplate on all the way on and the button should click in the center hole. Be sure each side goes into the grooves of the magazine.
These ship 3 of these to a pack. They feel very sturdy, like they can survive drops to the floor.
