Most Helpful Positive Review Death to batteries!
I just got this, and I already like it better than my Eotech. No batteries, built in qd mounts, built like a tank. When there is sunlight, the reticle is bright, very bright. It is dimmer indoors during the day, but still pleasant and clear. The only time it seems to wash out on me is looking ac...

Most Helpful Negative Review Triangle reticle is offset, Meprolight customer service doesnt respond to emails.
Bought this sight to go with my X95 seeing as they really are meant for each other. Got it mounted on and took it to the range. That's when I realized that the triangle reticle is all the way at the top of the glass and the only way to see it is to rest my cheek bone almost to the ejection port cove...

Mepro M21 amber triangle

by Mike A., Verified Owner from PA, United States Written on October 24, 2025
I got this optic at a great price. I haven't had a chance to use it yet but its built tough and looks good on an AR. I think the triangle reticle is your best option for longer range work as the top tip of the triangle can be used as your zero. I would certainly recommend the polarizing kit because the reticle does washout when viewed from a dim lit area into a brighter one. I would have given it 5 stars if not for that, but you should expect reticle washout from an optic that does not use batteries. Overall, it's a good choice for an AR optic.
Pros:
  • seems durable
Cons:
  • Reticle washout in certain instances
Best Used for:
  • ar 15

Cons:
  • Blue tint which does not bother me and heavy
  • Blue tint and heavy

Meprolight M21

by chuck, Verified Owner from AR, United States Written on March 15, 2025
Purchase the sight for my IWI bull pup. Mounted the sight with the supplied quick attach mount. The sight out of the box would strike the target. Very happy with the triangular reticle. The washout issue is manageable but still a concern at times. Overall very happy with the purchase!!

mepro m21 red dot

by Tucker Marshall, Verified Owner from MO, United States Written on November 19, 2024
Built like a tank, works as advertised. Definitely need to add the available (on eBay) REM21 LED booster to compensate for this optic’s only downfall which is reticle washout when looking from a shaded area into a bright area. Good price. I would purchase again but I would opt for the triangle reticle.
Best Used for:
  • CQB (Close Quarters Battle)

Solid Construction

by JD, Verified Owner from HI, United States Written on November 13, 2024
Watched different YouTube reviews on this optic. Decided to go with the M21 instead of the newer version. It is definitely built solid & works perfectly with my Tavor. Looking to get the additional things that go hand in hand with this optic to maximize it potential.

Nothing fascinates me more than this amber dot

by Hunter, Verified Owner from HI, United States Written on July 5, 2024
Why is the dot amber? ADVANCED TECHNOLOGY. What technology? FIBER OPTIC. I have no idea why the concept of an amber dot fascinates me so much but the meprolight M21 hits me right in the autism. Strap that redicle enhancer to it and BAM you are now COOKING. Forget to turn your red dot off? No you didn't, it's PASSIVE POWERED. I want you to think about how cool that is for a second.Yes, you should buy one. No, it's probably not the most practical, but I don't care. AMBER. DOT. I will certainly consider more Meprolight products in the future.
Pros:
  • QD mount
  • Tritium
  • Fiber Optic
  • Works Well with Magnifier if you Set Diopters Right
  • Passive illumination
  • Looks cool (you can't argue)
  • Isn't made by trijicon
  • Amber dot
  • Triangles optionally
  • Well supported
  • Still being made
  • Passive Auto brightness
  • Tritium again because g l o w
Cons:
  • You definitely need a REM or polarizer
  • Made by Israel
Best Used for:
  • Making people question how you acquired a sight with an amber dot. You're different. You're unique. You're cool.

Pretty good

by Buck, Verified Owner from TX, United States Written on June 12, 2024
It's not the best on the market but it is tough and acceptable for the price, if you're looking for a good optic for your medium priced build for plinking around at around 50-200yds its awesome and I'd suggest it.
Pros:
  • easy to use
  • No batteries needed
  • can take a beating
  • fair priced
Cons:
  • Reticle floods when shooting from shade to lighted areas, but works fine from lighted to lighted.
Best Used for:
  • Medium priced AR rifles or similar platforms.

great optic!

by zach c, Verified Owner from MS, United States Written on June 10, 2024
Love this thing. Very crisp, easy to see. I got the optics planet reticle and I couldn’t be happier. It’s the closest to a 1 moa dot. Yes there is a washout issue. I have this on a dedicated outdoor rifle, and don’t see that being and issue for me. If the washout wasn’t an issue this would be hands down one of the best optics on the market.
Very happy with my purchase. Works well with some magnifiers.
