This charging handle adds an offset angle as compared to the OEM handle, which means you’re much less likely to rake skin off your hands when LARPing Die Hard. Also adds significant real estate to your grip and retains the “flip” function. Makes pulling and locking the bolt to the rear much more intuitive.

AUGs are great, but this is one of the areas where the factory design falls short. The Manticore folding handle is a valuable upgrade.

Huge improvement over the stock charging handle. Just installed mine last week. Makes my AUG much easier to charge and no longer interferes with the sling.

This was fairly easy to install and it is so much better than the standard AUG charging handle. It folds down to stay out of the way and the whole mechanism is canted down a bit more to spare ones knuckles from hitting the pic rail. It feels a little wobbly on there but I think that's just due to the piece it attaches to having some play. It is a non-reciprocating charging handle after all. Very happy with the change and it wasn't all that expensive either.

caught it on sale for -$60 so that was the pusher. super easy to install, took maybe 5 minutes with removing old one. no longer do i have to focus on not grating my knuckles to shot, with this charger its effortless and intuitive. by far the first and best upgrade for any AUG owner. suck it corvus!

My Manticore Arms Switchback charging handle arrived today (01/12/2024) and it took me about ten minutes to install while watching their video on YouTube. The installation was very easy using a small hammer and a punch to get the pin out of the OEM charging handle. The Switchback charging handle makes the racking and slapping down of the handle super easy now. I was practicing my reloads to get more familiar with the manual of arms for charging the weapon and reloading mags with my Magpul dummy rounds. My pinky and ring finger did not get enough real-estate when racking the weapon and slipped off bruising the edge of my hand and getting some scratches. I knew this to be a problem on some of the forums and they mentioned the Manticore Arms Switchback. I looked around online and found the best price on Opticsplanet with free shipping. So I purchased it on January 3 and it arrived on January 12th with the free shipping. Very satisfied with my purchase and highly recommend it if you have a Steyr AUG M3 M1.

The switchback is leagues above the stock charging handle. Super easy to install and the distance between the rail and the handle is a massive upgrade. It locks back VERY easy as well. The only downside is that the back of the handle can pinch your thumb when you extend it out.

If you are tired of bloody knuckles and a charging handle that actually stays locked open, then buy this handle. Easy to install and made to last. A much bigger improvement over the original. Took only minutes to install and anyone can do it.

This works much better than the original charging handle. Folds flat when not in use. Locks back much easier than the original. As mentioned in other reviews, it does fit a little loosely, with a bit of rattle. I can live with it. A lot larger aned easier to operate, especially with old hands.

I just installed this charging handle. It makes cocking the AUG and locking open the bolt, much easier. The factory plastic handle is significantly more tricky to lock up & back and tends to slip off the catch. The switchback mini locks easily and positively. A significant improvement over the factory part! It is easy to find in the dark and it feels good in the hand. A reviewer mentioned the slight “looseness” of this part but it is not very perceptible to me. This thing is a terrific AUG upgrade. It should come with this from Steyr.
