I've used 1pt., 2pt. and (I'm embarrassed to admit) even one 3pt. sling.

(My 2 cents for what it's worth, which is probably 2cents): After being a lifelong hunter, a Marine for 6 years and a retired LEO; please, if you get anything else from what I'm writing here; .....in my humble opinion, there is NEVER, NEVER, NEVER a reason for a 3pt. sling. Now, feel free to enlighten me as to why I'm wrong)�

Where was I....oh yeah, I like 1pt. slings PERIOD except when you have to move fast and you have something to hold, other than your rifle, because if you're not holding your rifle, it will end up whacking you somewhere you would rather it didn't (feel free to use your imagination)!

Then one day recently I saw a video describing the McLean Corp DRS Dynamic Retention Sling. This sling, which was apparently designed and developed by a Navy Seal is absolutely INGENIOUS! After watching a demonstration of this sling I knew I had to get one and, as they say, the rest is history!

It is a 1pt. sling that can be quickly (and I do mean very very quickly) converted into a 2pt. sling. Once you receive yours, should you purchase one, you set up yours with two sling attachments (one where you would normally put one for a single sling attachment and a second one closer to the end of the hand guard. I use M-Lock QD push button quick connect/disconnect Sling Swivel Loops.

Best sling I’ve ever used by FAR! OP doesn’t sell the version WITH the QD’s so be wary of that! You must purchase separately, but if you do, be prepared for the last sling you’ll ever buy!

I learned about this sling by watching a YouTube video by Classic Firearms. It featured Neil McLean himself who designed this sling. I highly recommend watching it for a thorough breakdown . This sling is a hybrid between a 2 point and single point sling. For reference I am 5-10 225 and the sling has plenty of adjustment point to make it fit comfortably. I really love the admin mode of the sling which is basically when you have both attachments points connected to your rifle. It keeps the rifle snug and close to your body with the ability to quickly it with a pull tab. I also love the quick deploy system which takes the sling from admin mode to single point mode which gives you quick and easy access to the use of your firearm. This is my second purchase of this sling and this will be the only one I will buy for the foreseeable future. I haven’t worn it for an extended period of time so I’m not sure if a pad is necessary or not.

I ordered black but received Coyote Brown. It is a gift for a friend but luckily he is an FDE freak. This sling is awesome!
