Awesome optic
I took a Trijicon ACOG off my Tavor X95, and replaced it with the Meprolight M21, and I believe this works a little better on several levels. First, it gives the rifle a more correct/ original profile (go IDF !!!). Next, with the 1x power M21, I can co-witness the Tavor’s flip up iron sights (whi...

Expensive but dim
Unless you are constant exposed to outdoor and well-lit areas (like in the desert where this is invented), you will find the dot very hard to see due to poor ambient lighting. Especially in in-door ranges.
Also, the blue coating filters out red spectrum, hence most red markings on the target papers...

Preppers Dream red dot!
No batteries, fiber optics, and tritium. Works in the light and dark. This thing is rugged and easy to use. I bought it with the polarizer and glad I did because reticle white-out is real. With the polarizer, it completely eliminates it. I also bought the REM 21 Illuminator elsewhere (OP didn't have any) which attaches a battery powered LED to the side of the fiberoptic. It works great, but the LED shines bright through front of the sight and you have to cover the light collector with either tape or black nail polish. Not a fan, and the polarizer does essentially the same thing without the light. The OPMOD reticle is much better than the stock dots as it gives you better aiming points. Plus it just looks cool. My only complaint is that the stock sight cover/sock won't fit on the sight with the polarizer attached. Since the polarizer is sort of essential, I feel like they should make a cover available that fits snuggly with it attached.
Pros:
- No batteries!
- Rugged and reliable
- always on
- Polarizer fixes wash-out
Cons:
- Needs a cover that fits with the polarizer
Best Used for:
- SHTF

Great optic overall
Great optic. The auto adjust brightness works great unless you are in low light aiming into bright light however, you can still see the reticle just dimmer. On the heavier side and a little bulky but huge field of view. If water gets in the emitter area and distorts the reticle either, shake it or blow it out. Then works fine

Reliable confidence.
This is my second M21. I use them on my two rifles that I keep close at hand for the JIC situations. One in my bedroom, one in my truck. I have all kinds of optics on all kinds of firearms. The M21 is the one I know I can ALWAYS count on if I REALLY need it.

Love to reticle
Got this on sale a while back. The reticle can be a little dim when firing from indoors to outdoors but someone makes a light that screw right into it as a back up reticle brightener. I love the fact that its going to last over a decade because the tritium. Haven had the chance yet to shoot with it but mounds really sturdy.

Great optic but …
Overall I am very satisfied with the optic. Glass is clear and it illuminates well at night. My only issue is the hexagon outline of the red dot was much smaller than I anticipated. I am used to a Eotech Halo with the circle/ dot and the circle is much larger. Although Mepro states the sight comes pre sighted for an AR platform my sight shot 2’ low at 50 yards but was able to be adjusted correctly. Windage was set almost perfect. I remove and reinstalled and the sight maintained zero so this was good. Construction seems to be heavy duty for the housing. If you are considering the HC aiming setup you should look thru one first before buying. I would biy one again but would go back to the circle/ dot aiming setup.
Pros:
- Heavy duty construction, maintained zero with removal and reinstall, very clear glass
Cons:
- Smaller aiming sight picture then using a standard circle- dot
- smaller aiming point with the HC option
Best Used for:
- AR platform for 300yds and less

Robust battle proven optic for my Colt AR-15 Carbine
Mounted right onto flattop without adjustment, throw levers locked down smooth. Reticle cowitnesses to front post sight and Magpul rear. Reticle clear and sufficiently bright. Could have done without the “OP MOD” lettering on the side. Have yet to take it to the range to sight it in but everything seems good to go! Nice not having batteries and on/off switches.
Pros:
- Robust and built to last
Cons:
- Weight - little heavy
Best Used for:
- Carbine and sbr
