Most Helpful Positive Review Night sight value
It can be installed with a punch and hammer but is very difficult. There is a tool for this, but at $494.00 it is too expensive. I am going to buy the B-square front sight pusher. I purchased the wrong one first based on the date range of the gun (Para Ordnance). I wish this had been clearer up front. The difference is vertical vs. slanted slide grooves. I got them in. They work great. No real complaints. Pros: Cheaper than Trijicon but just as good Cons: Very difficult to install without proper tools

Had this EDC for 14 years replaced the original night sights with these new Meprolight units easy off easy on took m/b 10 minutes for the entire job. Very bright fit perfect both front and rear, My Stainless LDA C 7.45 Companion back on the road.

Nice product other issues

by VS, from IN, United States Written on May 18, 2017
I was exited to find this site because finding sights for my Para 1445 lda was not easy. My issue was waiting to get them it took a month for them to arrive. That is the only reason why I didn't rate it higher.

Great Fit, easy to see

by Bob, Verified Owner from AZ, United States Written on March 6, 2017
I had a hard to fit 1911 style pistol which I wanted to change sights on. Contacted Optics Planet staff for a recommendation, they told me which sight to purchase. Very minor filing had to be done for a tight fit, great sights, easy to see both night and day.
Pros:
  • Very bright
  • Same height as OE sights on pistol
  • Easy to see both day and night
Cons:
  • minor filing to fit
Best Used for:
  • Practical Shooting

Just what you should expect

by John, from CA, United States Written on July 8, 2015
Arrived within estimated time, fair price from OpticsPlanet. Took me about 45 mins to hand fit them to my slide with some needle files, small stones and 1200grit. I'm an amateur, so a professional shouldn't have any trouble fitting them if you go that route. Seem very bright and we'll cut for night or target use. Finish doesn't match para's PVD, these look like a nitride, sure it's durable but a match would be nice. I would certainly buy meprolight again.

Para Ordnance night sights

by Legacy Reviewer, from WA, United States Written on July 22, 2011
I've used Meprolight night sights on many of my firearms and have installed them on friends and customers firearms as well. On the Glocks, Sigs, etc there was no problem. Just remove the old sight and slip on with a gentle tap the new rear sight. However on the Para Ordnance P14 I had a bit of trouble. I drifted off the old sights and set them aside. Both the front and rear sight were difficult to get started and I thought one it got going it would be fine. But it took much more effort than really should be required and I should have stopped and checked the sight before "forcing" it on. I got to the point of no return and finished the job which thankfully they were right on the money as far as sighting, but a bit of metal was taken off to get them on. Overall I would still highly recommend them, but be careful installing.
Pros: Good value for price
Cons: Difficult to install

Para sights pre-2007

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from NC, United States Written on April 22, 2011
Rear sight slid right in without any trouble at all. Gunsmith friend did the front sight for me, I didn't have the tools. Blade was canted because base was uneven, he fixed that and everything looks fine. Only thing I dislike is the poor finish on the sights. If you follow the link I've included: http://i343.photobucket.com/albums/o465/kathy0327_bucket/IM001406.jpg
You can see how the corners are already shiny and I haven't even shot the gun since the sights were installed.
Pros: Fit without much headache.
Cons: FInish wears quickly
