Most Helpful Negative Review Meprolight Tritium Sights - Sprinfield Armory XD
I originally bought the sights with green in front and orange in the rear. I had purchased and installed these same sights on an HK USP and, rat-a-tat-tat, they went on smoooothly. I followed the directions in the Meprolight instruction guide, which are as follows: 'Using a drift punch, tap the sigh...

Issues with install, but decent sights (ML21240)

by Brent, from CO, United States Written on February 3, 2020
Install - No issues with the front sight. The rear sight does not need a press to install. I was surprised that the rear sight slid all the way through the dovetail with no effort. I got the rear sight centered and tightened down but was still able to move the sight without much finger pressure. Ended up having to cut shims from an aluminum can and insert them between the sight and the dovetail clamp. That was enough to allow the rear sight to tighten down properly. Would have been nice if this was in the instructions.

Product - The tritium sights are bright enough to be clearly visible in a dark environment. Will have to see how durable they are after a trip or 2 to the range.
Pros:
  • None
Cons:
  • Needs shims on rear sight

by Conary, from NM, United States Written on July 15, 2018
Have these on 3 of my pistols I love them, great price would highly recommended them. Had to take to gunsmith to have changed out but other than that I love tru dot. Shopped around a while til I found a good price I can’t believe that some sites are charging twice as much for the same product.

Great night sights

by P-nut, from DE, United States Written on May 6, 2018
I have a set of trijicon nights as well for my cars. These are just as good if not better in the transitional period of time from light to dark. Meprolight has made me change my preference in night sights.
Best Used for:
  • Low or no light shooting scenarios

I'm very satisfied with the product! They have exceeded my expectations! Great service and my order was promptly filled! Thank you! The colors are bright and the sights were easily mounted. I am looking for one more set. I have referred Planet Optics to all of my friends! I have told them that they will be satisfied!

XD Mod 2 night sights

by Adam, Verified Owner from LA, United States Written on November 5, 2017
The description says these sights are for the XD(M). I bought these sights for an XD Mod .2 subcompact because I liked the look of the low profile factory sights. I was a little worried they wouldn’t fit, but I’m glad I took the chance. These Meprolight sights look exactly like the factory sights. They fit the slide perfectly. After installation, my point of aim/point of impact remained the same as the factory sights. And the tritium lamps are very bright and easy to see at night. I highly recommend these sights for anyone who owns or carries the XD Mod .2.
Pros:
  • Low profile, looks like factory sights
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • XDM, XD Mod 2

Nice sight

by Kyle, Verified Owner from TX, United States Written on February 23, 2015
Nice sight. Not as bright as I would like but works Ok in low light situations. Very hard to install but that is the XD and XDM pistol and not the sights issue. Well made, tough, definitely not going to move is dropped, etc.
Pros:
  • well-made product
Cons:
  • not as bright

I put these on my XDM Comp, & liked them so well I also put them on My XD MOD 2 Sub Comp 3 inch.. Perfect fit on both. Yes They are exact fit for both pistols same point of aim & impact on both. Just like the factory ones they do not touch your slide so no scratches on your gun. Hope this helps..

Cons:
  • none so far

by Steve, from GA, United States Written on November 26, 2014
Pros:
Checkout was easy
Shipped here within a couple days
Sights fit great
Easy Installment

Cons: ( ruins entire purchase for me!)

NIGHT SIGHTS ARE VERY DULL AND BARELY LIGHT UP!! I WOULD GO TO SAY THE FRONT ONE DOEST NOT LIGHT UP AT ALL BUT IF ITS PITCH BLACK AND YOU STARE REAL HARD AND CLOSE AT FRONT SIGHT YOU CAN SEE SOMEWHAT OF A "GLOW".

WOULD NOT RECOMMEND!! IF I COULD ADD PICTURES I WOULD!
Best Used for:
  • SOMETHING OTHER THAN SELF DEFENSE

Meprolight XD night sight set with orange rear and green front

by sb3006, from ID, United States Written on August 27, 2014
I would recommend this brand but next time I will buy green and green because they are brighter. I have two (2) other set of XD night sights that are green front and rear and they are much brighter. I also have a set of green night sights on a Kimber 1911 and they are very bright.
