After using this mount a couple times, I’m upping my rating. The weight is comparable to other heavy duty QD mounts. The price is competitive with them as well. Trijicon’s mount is $300! And I’m sure the Trijicon is excellent, but the Midwest mount is a good alternative.
The QD design could be improved, but if you’re careful with your initial setup, it’s solid and should hold up to regular removal and installation for a long time. If you’re not careful setting it up, you can easily damage it. As always, read the instructions.
