GOOD TO GO FOR YUGO - ignore other reviews - Install it backwards!
Other reviews state this is not a Yugo friendly mount without modification - this is incorrect! This will work for both standard and yugo pattern AKs.
Due to the sling loop some users noted they could not install this without shaving off one side - this is NOT necessary! Simply install it backwards! It works exactly the same and no modification is needed when you install the larger side towards the end of the barrel - a little counter intuitive but I have a flashlight mounted and it works flawlessly.
I'm disappointed other reviewers didn't consider this before permanently modifying this part...

Not listed as Used
Since this item was not listed as used, I expected a brand new rail. Came in all used and scratched up.

satisfied with product
Use red locktite upon install and this piece of kit will work as advertised. Make sure you leave room for your handgaurd retainer to be able to slide forward so you can still remove your lower handgaurd after installing this.

Relible low weight solution
This is a cleaver option to mounting a light/laser that’ll hold zero. An added benefit is that it also allows you to retain your cleaning rod.
Don’t worry about this messing with “barrel harmonics” either. Another benefit is this is a very light weight solution to mounting.

Smooth ergonomic
Really complemented the ak well. Had a snug fit just like it was ment to be on my rifle. Took it to the range and every one was saying how elegantly naughty the rifle looked with my new light mount. The mount did not sacrifice functionality for looks. In short buy this mount if you want your gun to be the envy of every ak purist that says you can’t upgrade your ak and keep those same pleasing lines. Thank you optic planet for keeping my ak on the shooting edge of performance.

Don't do it for Yugo AKs
It's a good mount and is built solid but don't make the same mistake I did and get it for a zastava zpap m70 because to make it work I had to shave half of one side so it would clear my sling mount. For anyone else this will work out great for lights or lasers.

Not Yugo friendly
For Zastava M70 zpap. In particular the mount isn't clearing the slot for slings. If this mount was a little shorter it'll work. I grinded it down to make it fit and make room for the sling. It's a solid unit and well built but sometimes you have to default to..the ol' bang it until it works..ak way
