Works great and manufactured well. The installation was easy. It doesn’t block or impede the gas selection.

I put this on my SCAR 16. Fit & finish were outstanding. Also the video instructions from Midwest were excellent. I would highly recommend this upgrade along with the Geissele trigger. Both are must haves on the SCAR 16/17.

Purchased this recently to put on my SCAR 17S. Taking my time, I had it on in about 30 minutes. Looks great and is very solid. I just followed the video from Midwest Industries and had no problems. Have you a little hand torch to get one screw out that has red locktite on it. Other than that , piece of cake. Highly recommend this upgrade for your SCAR.

Not a bad product. Its well designed.
If youre concerned with weight, dont be. Its a very lightweight design and doesnt add any considerable weight. Allows you to add lights, lasers and grips further out on the rifle which is invaluable, almost a must have. You can make due without a rail extension, but its so nice that once you go extended, youll never want to go back to stock.
The instructions are pretty bad because there is no pictures showing what the steps are talking about. Its just a numbered list. Thats okay though because theres good instructional videos out there. Midwest and FN Herstal recommends to apply heat to a couple screws in order to easily remove them due to loctite, I didnt have to do that and they came out easily enough with some force. Make sure to reapply blue loctite to the screws. I ended up with a couple spare screws which was worrying, but i dont see any possible place they couldve gone and the videos and instructions make no mention of them, so im assuming theyre spares.

Scars have always been lacking in the rail space department, so this is a huge improvement. Allows for lights to be mounted further forward, and ir devices to be mounted further forward and away from where the bolt slams home. Definitely looks a lot better in my opinion as well.

I concur with earlier 4-Star comments/reviews. Expect to reference YouTube/Video assistance (which is likely the wise thing to do anyway), because the instructions are lacking. I played with the options for some time before determining which screws are appropriate for each location, but I would say this isn't too difficult to figure out. I too ended up using an original screw at one point.
However, the changed look and added functionality was amazing; I was able to mount a vertical grip and Magpul Bipod with sufficient space now between them, whereas before there was too little room.
Cons:
- Instructions (on, off, adjust, care, cleaning, etc.) are a bit vague.

Solid rail but to get the piston plug off you have to flex the barrel to do it. They should have cut out a space for the plug to be removed wo doing this. So now I have to cut some material off myself. They should have done this at the factory
Cons:
- Needs to shaved for piston plug to come out easily

This rail looks fantastic on the SCAR. I have the KDG MREX 6.5 on another SCAR, and the kdg is Superior overall but to me not worth the 125 extra. This came out of the packaging with surface rust and talc powder that was alarming at first but wiped away easily. Finish was smooth and even. This comes with no instructions or list of included parts. The Midwest Industries website has a video tutorial and while it is very good, it fails to go over the included screws with the kit. Further, the aft bottom barrel screw was off slightly and I could not use the provided barrel but screw the video calls for, so I had to use my original screw. Overall I would recommend this product.
