Unsure if I have an odd 516 or if the Midwest handguard was machined wrong but the inner channel was nowhere near as large as the stock handguard and not even close to fitting over my piston rod assembly. Seems odd in all the the videos and reviews I've seen that this problem hasn't been noted before so like I said, unsure. I have the short quad rail fully exposed gas block model in case that helps anyone. Handguard itself was perfect and I really wish it would have worked.
