I replaced the original short rail on my 516 with the long Lancer carbon rail which I loved but didn't love the lack of access to the piston for quick cleaning. This Midwest rail solved my problem and many be lighter than the Lancer carbon rail. Great product!

I was very pleased with quality of the item along with the fit and finish. The package came with all the necessary fasteners and tools needed to install.

This handguard completely changes how the rifle handles. So much lighter and easy to manipulate with this hand gaurd. My only wish is that the qd cups were steel reinforced. The rifle is still heavy for an ar and will speed up the qd cups wearing out so steel inserts would be nice but it is still an excellent hand guard and I recommend.

Rail is very rigid and lightweight. Love the styling as it almost changes the entire look of the firearm from the stock rail. Fits bayonet lug gasblock and lugless block.

Ordered this based on reviews I saw on reddit. Great quality construction, lightweight and perfect fit. Much more comfortable than the stock quad picatinny.

Outstanding upgrade to the Sig Sauer 516 Patrol piston AR-15 rifle. It fits perfectly and is tailor-made for the Sig 516. Easy to install. Thanks to its superior M-Lok design, it is much lighter and slimmer than the bulky and heavy factory quad Picatinny rails. I highly recommend it for the Sig Sauer 516 rifle!

Having suffered with the stock picatinny rail and the trial and error of the lancer carbon handguard this is pretty much the only handguard to get for your sig516 should you choose to continue using this abandoned firearm platform.
Funny enough the lancer full length actually weighs more than the picatinny version.
So you're stuck with a short rail probably the lightest one for this platform that actually makes it feel like a modern AR instead of a big clunky mess the lockup method not confidence inspiring but gets the job done. There's no heat shielding so you'll want to get some rail covers as far as mounting lights and everything I definitely have a gripe with the forced use of a QD cup on the end of the handguard where I would want to mount a light as far forward as I could.
The finish is not as robust as the Sig sauers on the receiver but once you attach some accessories rattle can this thing you'll never notice.

It's either this or go the custom route like some guy on AR15.com did by changing out the barrel nut with a GI and doing some trimming to make a Centurion rail work.

This M-Lok rail is a nice improvement over the stock rail. It covers the sides of the gas block and gives the 516 a more modern look. Fit and finish is perfect and was very easy to install.

The handguard is lighter than the original handguard and makes it look a little more modern. The look and modularity are nice and allow you to still clean the piston easily. Also it fits rifles with the bayonet lug.

I absolutely love this handgaurd!!! The ergonomics has changed it for the best. Quality is definitely good. Took the factory one off and bolted the new one one very easy. Looks like it belongs once applied.
