Great solution for carbines with standard handguards
Lightweight and solid attachment. Sling sockets allow for low profile side mount attachment on basic carbine. Much better than rail piece on standard handguards. Places light high where it can be more easily activated.
Good but……..
I like the product it’s sturdy and does the job I would recommend for anyone who wants a simple way to attach a flashlight. Only problem is the packaging sucks. I receive the parts all over the place in UPS bag. I think I got a used returned item no reason for the parts to come out unless it’s been open before. It would be nice if the parts were delivered in a box so nothing comes damaged.
Pros:
- Simple and effective
Cons:
- Expensive
- Packaging
Would recommend: Yes
Fantastic product
I have a carbine length hand guard which leaves little room for lights. After looking into several options like extended hand guards and such I decided to try the Midwest Industries FSP picatinny mount and I am completely satisfied.
The quality is superb and installed incredibly easily.

Clever and useful for FSB guns
Great way to mount a weapon light close to the bore line without interfered with C clamp shooting style. Best used with mil-spec pinned FSB's, not sure about clamp on FSBs.
I would rather have an extra 1913 slot that the sling swivel slot but YMMV. I had to remove some polymer from my Magpu. MOE SL Hand Guard to get everything to fit but that should not be an issue with GI hand guards or free float guards the don't extend past the rear of the FSB.
Like every MI product I own this mount is well engineered, well machined, and rock solid.

Great accessory
This product is well made, easy to install and provides an excellent place to add a light to your firearm. Midwest industries makes great products at a reasonable price, and they are made in the United States of America. What more could you ask for? Thank you optics planet! Everyone should have a weapon mounted light on their home defense firearm. This makes it easy.

Works great
Very solid and perfect for mounting a light or other accessory if you don’t want to install a railed hand guard. The QD socket is a nice feature too. Make sure to use a little lock tite when installing.

M.I the better if the two
this rail is a breeze to install... (compared to other) ... M.I. has a few less slots but has two sling holes. the other was truly a hassle to install - I thought it was milled wrong and almost gave up and send it back..then it fell into the A1 frame. I will never purchase another but I have ordered two more M.i. rails.
Pros:
- easy and SOLID insty
- easy to install /solid mount
Cons:
- None
