Had a Millett Red dot Sight years ago and it was excellent. Bought two more SP1 sights last year from Optics Planet and both have stopped working. One has a loose object in the tube which blocks vision. The other never would zero correctly. Both are junk and I have thrown them away. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON MILLETT RED DOT SIGHTS! Buy a quality sight like Sig Sauer or Trijicon.

Sighted in with just a few shoots, used on SW Victory with aftermarket barrel and trigger. I like the larger dots makes free hand shooting much more accurate.. Best dot system I've used for a pistol due to the multi dot configuration.

This is my second purchase of a Millett Red Dot. Had to return original dot due to defect in lens, bottom half had red line thru it. Replacement was reordered and this one works OK but the quality control is lacking. In side of tube you can see the sealant hanging from one side and other QC issues which my older Red Dot does not have. I would not purchase another one of these dots.

I purchased this item for use on my Mini-14. It was just the right length to mount in the Ruger rings on the rifle. The dot projected in the scope is not a perfect dot; it's somewhat irregular in shape, but I can live with it considering that I bought it for use on varmints at ranges to 100 yards. The variable brightness works well and I boresighted and zeroed on an overcast day. Boresight was at 15 yards, zero at 50 and confirmed to 100 yards with acceptable accuracy. Since I'm not trying to drive tacks with it, I was satisfied with the scope's performance as a zero-magnification optic. I will monitor the dot for signs of deterioration or further irregularity because I wouldn't want it to be any worse.
Pros:
- value for $$
- ease of adjusting
Best Used for:
- Quick Target Aquisition
- Carbines at short ranges

I messed up and ordered one from another company they couldn't find where I had ordered it.So I ordered one from Optics planet which I received pretty quickly. To make a long story short I wound up with 2 of them.I put one on a Ruger hunter 22/22mag sighted it in at 50 yards dead on.Good round red dot brightness is good and have had no problems. The other one I put on a Walther pellet gun dead on at 25 yards pests don't like it.The main reason I got it is the 1 inch diameter tube fits the rings that came with the Ruger and it is not huge and bulky.Eye relief is excellent at any distance.

The red dot is flimsy at best. Comes with scope cover and rings. However, the dot intensity is weak at the maximum setting in a bright daylight. Bought it for .22 cal NSSF steel match. To much of my regrets, I wish I bought a better scope.

I have purchased several of these scopes over the past few years. I have put them on several pistols and they have always performed perfectly. The latest addition went on a ruger redhawk in 454 casell. The scopes have always performed well.

My eyes aren't what they used to be, so the iron sights on my stainless 416 Rigby Ruger No.1 were not doing the job. A scope slows down the process of loading a round in the chamber, so I chose a red dot sight. I've had Millett red dots on other guns, and it was the logical choice for my "Rabbit" gun! :-) A great sight at a very reasonable price!

I have had this red dot for years and every time that I have to change the battery it is made like a chinese piece of junk(probably is) the battery cover does not fit properly and is almost impossible to thread back on after changing the battery. I am looking for an American made scope that is more quality than this. very frustrating.
