Great entry level 1-6x scope
Purchased for my AR 15 3 gun set up. Couldn't be happier. Wanted a 1-6x instead of a 1-4x but wasn't ready to spend $800 for a Nikon or $1000+ for the Vortex. So for under $500 I went with the Millet DMS 1-6x. I like it better than the Primary Arms 1-6x so far. The PA has a unique reticle but for most of my shooting I am 250 yds or less so I wasn't getting full utility out of it. The Millet has a simple but effective reticle, more than adequate illumination on lowest levels, available accessories such as a power change lever, and I couldn't be happier. Once I rack up a decent round count on this scope, I'll be ready to invest in a higher quality 1-6x but this scope was a great way to start.

You get more than what you pay for
I was waiting on a Vortex Strike Eagle, had one ordered, got tired of waiting saw good reviews on this scope so I ordered it. Very nicely made, love the easy lock/unlock turrets with no caps to screw off to adjust windage and elevation . Would say glass is equal to the Vortex,I was able to actually...

Won't hold a zero
After the salesman convinced to get this scope instead or the vortex, I got it and finally got it to the range. Got it dialed in once, then the next 20 rounds were all over the place like the scope was loose. Tried another 10 rounds and still no luck, what a piece of junk. And of course I can't...

It's -ok- ...not very good like it's little 1x4 brother.
The 1x4 version is really good.
Bright and clear.
This 1x6 makes me wonder if it's the Same glass just pushed a little
To far to get the 6x. It looses it's sharp clarity at 6x. Also 1x is noticeably more 1.5x
The lockING turrets are OK if your into cranking them. (I'm fine setting and forgetting them)
The extra dot s are starting to get the view cluttered.

Great clear glass
This scope came in a timely manner and definitely did not disappointed. It came with a very nice cover and packaging. It was also extremely easy to zero in. I recommend this scope to anyone looking for a scope to mount on an AR platform.

Millett 1-6 DMS
I recently built a AR 15 in 375 SOCOM and needed a mid range optic. I have used Millett optics on several rifles and have always been pleased with them. The 1-6 DMS scope is no exception, it is clear runs up and down in magnification well.
As always Millett provides a quality optic for a price that won't break the bank. You keep selling them and I will keep shooting the.

Optic Comparison
I’ve been in the firearms industry for a very long time. Hope this review helps. Besides, when bullets start flying all this and that, goes out the door. First, Optics planets pricing/discounts and delivery is fantastic. I purchased the Millett 1-6x24 DMS, Primary Arms 1-6x24 ACSS reticle, and Bushnell AR Optics 1-4x24 Throw Down PCL. Glass quality is a must for me, and it was a great day for comparisons in S. FL. due to clouds changing the ambient light.
The Bushnell wins in the glass category by having true clear colors, while the others have a more yellow tone (very minor) when looking thru them. I tested them on power range 1x to 4x in order to keep them all the same plane. Second place glass is the Primary, and then the Millett. All there have great glass but Bushnell is the winner, but also note that at one power it has the most distortion on the outer edges of the glass. Also feels more like 1.5 not a true 1x like the other two.
All three are mounted on ARs, and due a great job of CQB to medium to long range target acquisition. No red dots for me. Ocular adjustment, lighted reticles, and the ability to hit close and far with these scopes makes them far superior to a red dot. All three do an excellent job of giving you precision aiming at long range. #1 Reticle design goes to Primary arms, #2 Millett and 3rd Bushnell.
Turret click adjustments and returning to zero are great on all three. It is a matter of taste if you like cap or exposed turrets. Millett’s locking ...

Arguably overlooked for 3-gun. Read this...
Summary: This is a really great scope, especially in the sub-$300 price point. Several of my friends were looking to get a scope for their rifles to use in 3-gun. After having issues with the Vortex Strike Eagle (not holding zero), we went this route.
You should consider this scope if you are on a budget looking for a 1-6x optic that is relatively clear (remember, it's a $300 optic, not $1500).
Abuse: We have it mounted on an AR-platform, using a Warne SKEL mount. This scope has been shot in the rain (moderate to heavy), dry heat, and the rifle has been dropped in the dump barrel at least a dozen times. Scope holds zero, reticle is intact, and the illumination still works just fine.
Reticle: It's not OMG bright, but it is readily visible in daylight. The BCR 1 recticle has the holdovers out to 500 yards and they are easy to make out. Would prefer to see some numbers for easy acquisition, but not a big deal.
Turrets: Has a plastic / nylon base ring to cinch down and hold the adjustment. Was apprehensive at first, but it seems to work really well.
Glass: It's clear for a $300 optic. What more can I say?
Mounting: Here is where it's important. FIRST, get a decent, one piece mount such as the Warne SKEL and make sure it's not bridging onto your handguard from the upper. SECOND, be sure it is NOT OVER TORQUED. Warne recommends 65 inch-pounds on the mount, and a maximum of 25 inch-pounds on the rings. HOWEVER, Bushnell / Millett recommends no more than 13 inc...

Nice features for a nicer price
Up front, I would rate this a 5 if it were just a bit lighter. That said, it has great features for a 1-6x AR optic and worth every penny paid. The mounting was very simple on a Leupold Mark 2 AR Mount. I mounted it on a 300 Blackout AR platform. The glass is decent (not exceptional) and has limited parallax through the 4x setting. At 5-6x zoom, it takes a little more time to ensure you have the proper eye relief, but is still decent. Zeroing was simple, and thus far it holds zero and shoots at about 2 MOA (supported) at 100 meters. I love the reticle and it makes target acquisition quick in daylight or indoors. It is tough and well built. I know this because the package delivered from Optics Planet through the USPS was completely crushed upon receipt. Works like a charm and worth the investment if you want an entry level, inexpensive AR optic.

Mini 14 fun
Nice item works great on my Mini 14 . Right on at 100 meters and was hitting my 10x16" steel at 509 yards. Good value and easy to use. Happy with this purchase. Easy to use and dial in when you set it on at 200 Yards. The bullet drop seemed to be right on with .223 ammo.

Very pleased
I've run this scope in several 3-gun matches, and I am very happy with it. It is in a Larue mount, and will not lose zero. The image is very bright and its built well. Heavy, but that is not a concern of mine. I also like the reticle very much. The focus on my sample is best turned all the way in until tight, because otherwise it appears to allow the reticle slight movement. Do I recommend it? Yes, in fact I already have - a friend is ordering one for himself.
Pros:
- well built
- Very good value
- Wide magnification range
- Nice image
Cons:
- flimsy scope caps
- It's been called heavy
- Focus dial not confidence inspiring
Best Used for:
- hunting
- 3-gun competition
