Most Helpful Positive Review A Value for the Price
For the money, this is a good scope. I first mounted this on my .338 Lapua and the recoil was no problem. Sub moa groups at 600m were no problem. I then put the Millet on my Remington Target Tactical .308 and immediately noticed how high the rings were. I had a 20 moa NF base and the bottom of the...

Most Helpful Negative Review Money well wasted
after receiving this scope I mounted it on my newly built bolt gun (.308). I figured I'd do a quick review on the scope after 100 round however it never made it there.... After zeroing, I put a couple groups together and then thought I'd check tracking and get a good feel for the turrets. So I did t...

Great Veiw

by Goldie Loks, Verified Owner from AR, United States Written on September 10, 2021
Have it on my Safety Harbor BMG for several years with out any problems so far. The trick is maintenance, preventative maintenance does it every time. I tare down weapon and optics once a year to the bare bones, clean repair if needed or replace parts, it hasn't failed me yet.
Pros:
  • easy to use
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • Long Range / Precision

Awesome scope

by Lchawks25, from KY, United States Written on February 16, 2018
Just purchased my scope and love it so far! Tracks well, and takes the brutal punishment of my Barrett 50 cal very well. My only complaint has been the rings dont hold the best and deffinetely need to be loctited on when mounting scope. My scope did come loose the first range trip out after about 30 rounds. That mistake was on my part I should've known better.
Pros:
  • Good quality, good price point, come with rings
Cons:
  • Rings not best quality, glass gets a little blurry at full magnification

Very Imressed with Initial Use

by Jake, Verified Owner from MI, United States Written on January 8, 2018
I am using this on a bolt action .338 Lapua Magnum Remington 700 chassis gun. I bore sighted before shooting and within 6 shots I was dialed in at 100yrds. After 34 rounds the scope has held zero. I will update my review when I get to take the gun back out and put match grade ammo through it so that I can perfect the sighting in and give a better evaluation on durability and the capability of holding zero with extended time of use. For the price it is hard to beat this scope. I am very impressed with the glass this scope offers at it price point. Out to 600 yards and it was still a clear sharp image. The scope itself is built out of a one piece tube and with the larger diameter tub and large objects the shooter's field of view is not constricted at high magnifications.
As for Optics planet their customer service is great. My order was delayed originally because I ordered the scope while on the road out of the country for work and a employee of optics planet call me the next day to make sure it was not a fraudulent purchase which I thought spoke a lot about how they treat their customers. As soon as the conversation end my order was shipped that day. I have ordered in the past from OP and have had great customer service in the past as well. Will continue to a lot of business with them.
Pros:
  • Price point
  • Quality of build
Cons:
  • none so far

Still going strong after 6 years

by Nor, from OH, United States Written on August 31, 2017
Think they got the info wrong about the reticle at the top of this review. Its either a 1/4 inch or 1/10 mil. Anyway had my scope for a little over 6 yrs and it is one fine scope. Do not like the glass, think it should be a little better for scope in this price range. On the higher powers it is a little cloudy, but only in bright light. As the light level drops the cloudiness mostly goes away, perhaps it is bright light reflecting off of slight imperfections in the glass. Do not like the spongy feel to the turret adjustments. From here on it is all up hill. Those turrets may feel spongy but they track perfectly, and have a very large range of adjustments, it is truly a long range scope. It has always held the adjustments perfect. Mine came with a sun shade and rings, a great value. It is a big scope and looks great on my big rifle. One other thing - the instructions left out a step when zeroing the turrets. After you back out the 4mm allen screw in the top of the turret release the pressure on the turret locking ring before lifting up the turret to readjust it. The locking ring locks the OUTSIDE turret ring so it is impossible to turn with the ring locked down. After unscrewing the allen screw stop, don't put to much pressure on it or you will change your scope adjustment. If you hear it click you went to far.
Pros:
  • Excellent value
  • very durable
  • extremely accurate
Cons:
  • a little cloudy on high power
  • spongy feeling turrets

very good scope

by Ken, from SC, United States Written on August 5, 2017
Scope performed well, have not shot over a hundred yards yet but seems to do real well, after bore sighting only took about 6 shots to zero, glass is very good and clear, went up to 22X and did not have any edge fogging, all adjustments were sharp and distinct clicks, parallax adjustment is very good, the scope rings that came with scope are very solid, maybe just a little high but there is still plenty of adjustment, the places I hunt 600 yards is about the longest shot I will get anyway and I still have plenty of adjustment for that. I fired about 100 rounds after zeroing and they all were on the money. I moved the adjustments and brought them back to set point several times and the point of impact was back at zero every time. Scope was a great buy. That's about all you can ask a scope to do.

good value, quality poduct, full functional design

by Phantom30, from FL, United States Written on May 3, 2017
I bought this scope a couple of years ago. Has performed very well. Bought a TRS recently for a 308W. Couple of facts on Millett scopes both TRS and LRS are secondary plane reticles, therefore, their Mil Dot reticles are accurate, without scaling, at one power setting. TRS at 10x LRS at 25x, the elevation MOAs TRS 100, LRS 140. These scopes with the 6 screw Millett or Leupold mounts, are good for 2000gs. G loading in your rifle is given by the peak chamber pressure in PSI times the area of the cartridge base in square inches divided by the fully loaded weapon weight in pounds. Check SAAMI for data if you don't know. This scope on a 300WM 5R using Berger 230gr Hybrids will out perform a 338 Lapua. You'll need the ability of the elevation turret to track the number of rotations for higher MIL or MOA settings. This scope will do it precisely.

Millett 6-25x56 LRS-1 Tactical scope

by Deerkill, Verified Owner from AR, United States Written on January 30, 2017
Won't hold up to a .338 lapua.. I would imagine a 308 or 270 would be a perfect fit for this... The scope is extremely clear at all zooms... Illumination is great love the green also like how the turrets lock

Millett LRS-1

by imcelt2, Verified Owner from TX, United States Written on December 26, 2016
One of the best scopes for the price. VERY low light scope with 35 mm tube. Very accurate and lockable target turrets. Returns to zero every time so far. Heavy but worth it for a long range rifle. This is my second and will order another if I had the rifle for it. Friends shoot it and want the info on where to get one.
Pros:
  • Very clear glass at all mag setting
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • long range and precision shooting

Proud grandfather

by Riley, from LA, United States Written on September 22, 2016
Bought this scope for my 300 win mag. Only put one box of ammo down the range so far, holds true, very clear glass. awesome groups.. Love the extended shade. Would recommend for the price. This scope comes with lighted reticle, very nice. I mounted it on a Remington 700. I purchased a rail separately. The 35mm rings worked great. I purchased an extra set just in case but didn't use them. So far all good...
