Underrated German optics
I love this scope ,the bad part is there isn't much to read for reviews except outdoor life 2016 scope shootout the Minox rated tops for image quality tying vortex razor at 1/2 the price and second against khales for low light performance and that cost res as much. MY first outing I shot my best group ever out of my 300 Weatherby st shot was slightly low and to the right ?the 1/8"fine adjustments brought smack dead center all 4 bullet joles touching in a verticle string under 1/2".
minox claims a warranty, but, No warranty on illuminated and other parts after 2 years. Mine broke

new minox zx5ix25x56mm upgrade is awesome
This is the conclusion of my Minox customer service and scope review,i was happy with the first version of the minoxzx5ix25scope, untill it gave out Katrin @Blaser usa did her best she could by lending a za5xix25x56 ,which mechanically would not hold zero ,So November 8th i recived my new upgraded minoxzx5ix25scope with much .much improved reticle and the entire inside of the tube was now a flat black ,the original version was not painted i side but had bare aluminum and dust inside ,with very fine reticles which were very hard to define at low light,This new scope os such a huge improvement optically and if iam correct this newer V.2 version does use Shott lenses vs the V.1 Japanese lenses which were very impressive to begin with.Iam very grateful for such customer service ,The last test will be time and how it hold up mechanically, but i can say now i have not personally peered through better optics
Pros:
- greatly improved reticles optics customerservice
Cons:
- limited windage and elevation adjustments
Best Used for:
- everything ,hunting and lowlight shooting

customer service is super
I posted prior to this about how great the optics are, compared to equally priced and some scopes 3xs more ,but I mounted my scopes 1st om a 300 unbraked weatherby and it was fi e I was getting 1"×groups at 20p yards but then my Weatberby gave out so I mounted on .y 300 ultramagnum and it did t hom Up all adjustments were off and and the side parallax was useless so I messaged Saurer usa who now handles mi oz and they said no problem, but the scope wod be sent to Germany for repairs leaving me with out an upcoming hunt ,which warra ty here in ISA sent me a loaner to help through this season untill mu scope was repaired no questions asked.Thank you for the great customer service

Review of Minox ZX5i 5-25 X 56mm Riflescope
I now have two of these scopes and they are both outstanding scopes. I purchased them specifically for 240 and 257 Weatherby Magnum rifles. These rifles need a long scope because of their long actions. They fit perfectly without having to buy any special rings to get the correct eye relief. I would highly recommend a set of std. extra or super high mount windage adjustable rings and bases to mount this scope with. The reason for this is the horizontal adjustment is somewhat narrow in my opinion and if your scope drilling wasn't quite perfect you might not be able to get it to come in. I had no problem at all with my Weatherby mounting using the above centered as best as I could in the initial set up, but just a heads up to be aware of. Also my scopes have the German no. 4 reticule with the lighted dot which covers about 1/2" at 100 yd. This reticule with the dot gives you instant target acquistion and can't say enough good about it. Also Minox customer service has been great. Definitely a very high quality scope for the money. I learned about Minox from a friend and they are the worlds best kept secret, I'd never heard of them before. Bought one and immediately bought another after seeing the quality of the first one.
Pros:
- Excellent high quality scope
Cons:
- Horizontal adjustment a little limited
Best Used for:
- Long range, long action rifles
