Underpriced FFP- If you have the means…..
Clear glass and FFP, all for less than $500. The reticle is one of my favorites . Other similar priced scopes are all SFP and 1-4 instead of 1-6. This is a lot of scope for the money. Monstrum has improved quite a bit over the last few years, quality control wise, as they have always had a well ...

Unusable in low power settings
I rate the scope one star and myself zero stars for getting a FFP scope. The only way you can see the reticle is to set the scope to a high power setting. When on the low power settings, the reticle is almost invisible, even in bright light. Yes, I know this is how FFP scopes work. I discovered th...

Great Scope
Originally bought one from Amazon. Was very iffy on the brand and style. After mutiple uses, I am a fan. I biught it for it for mid range, but end up using it for CQ. Would buy another. I don't have anything negative.
Best Used for:
- mid range

Great price for a FFP
Had been told to use FFP if I wanted to be serious sportsman or hunter. The price always scared me. Had used friends FFP optics and they were amazing. Low eye fatigue under prolonged use, excellent clarity, and easy to make quick adjustments. The Monstrum Alpha is a good entry level FFP. Price is a good starter into the FFP. Held its zero after a long move and never had issues with humidity fogging the lens, elevation issues that weren’t ballistic related, or my zero drifting. I enjoy knowing at 1x or 6x it will put rounds in the square. Monstrum uses a square with mildots, versus a Christmas tree, circle or mildot only cross. Getting used to FFP took some time, but it’s worth the price. Makes competitive or recreational shooting enjoyable with a small twist of the magnification. 1-6x is works well as most recreational shooter don’t shoot past 100-200 yards.
Pros:
- Price, ease of adjustments, quality
Cons:
- Finding scope rings that fit, no level bubble
Best Used for:
- Recreational to competition shooting

Nice FFP introduction, I recommend Monstrum
Yes, the reticle is small at 1 x and there is no illumination but it’s not un usable. If your curious about FFP and you don’ have a $1000 to experiment, the Alpha is an affordable way to experience the FFP reticle style of shooting. Clear glass, holds zero, exposed turrets for adjustments on the fly. Adjustment clicks are mushy. There is a new reticle option too- When these go on sale they around 80$. Minor QC issues on some units but Lifetime Warranty will protect you if you find any flaws.
Pros:
- lifetime warranty
- Affordable FFP
Cons:
- None
Would recommend: Yes
