Most Helpful Positive Review Better than metal ammo box
Why buy a used metal ammo can when you can get the same protection from this one. There is still more room for plenty more shells or whatever you else want to fit in it.
Most Helpful Negative Review Just get a metal one
I was really hoping for a sturdy weather proof ammo box but the hinges didn't last a week. I should've gotten a metal one, at least they're sturdy enough to put up with field use. Pretty disappointed.

Excellent build quality. Very convenient for storing shot shells. Locking latch could be a little tighter, however easy to open and lock.

MTM 100 Round 12 Gauge Shotgun Shell Dry Box

by Sportshooter, Verified Owner from CA, United States Written on April 1, 2015
This is a compact, practical storage can for your 12ga shells. The single latch is more than robust enough to handle the weight of a full box, which is 17.0 lbs for 100 rounds, arranged in two trays of fifty, plus four of the five round shell boxes, and a cable lock. (You can fit five of the standard five round boxes laying flat on top if you wish, for a total of 125 rounds; I only had four left over.)

The MasterLock type key lock with a 13 inch long cable will thread through both sides of the clasp for a secure connection if you want to lock them up. A standard 1/4 inch thick padlock hasp is too thick to fit through the locking hole.

The lid will separate from the box completely, and with the lid handle folded flat, you can flip it over to serve as a makeshift tray if you so desire.

The top has the standard stacking 'ridges' on the four corners to pile them on top of each other for efficient use of space.

A lightweight but sturdy, heavy molded box that looks like it will hold up to a lot of practical use.
This is a much better way to transport or store 12ga shells than tossing 20 boxes into a zipper bag or stacking them on a shelf.

All Day Running Clay

by Chris, Verified Owner from FL, United States Written on August 18, 2014
Great Product. No messing around with several paper boxes, easy to see what you have used or have left. Would like to have for 20 gauge as well. Easy to pack up and load out at the range. Easier than dealing with whole cases of shells but better organized than juggling a few boxes.
Pros:
  • holds individual shells snugly
  • HIGHLY FUNCTIONAL
Cons:
  • None

Super Shotshell Storage

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from IL, United States Written on December 5, 2013
These shotshell cases are ideal for legally transporting shotshells inside your checked baggage on commercial aircraft. (To avoid delays or loss, learn the rules first.) Each shell is supported individually, as required by the TSA for ammunition in checked luggage. Consider adding some foam, carboard, or bubble-wrap over each tray to silence the rattling. These boxes are also quite convenient for stacked storage at home, or as totes to and from the range or the field.
Pros: Stackable, Lockable, TSA-compliant

This dry box is the perfect way to store and transport large quantities of loose shotgun shells. 2 trays per box. I do not hunt, so this box stores my home security and range inventory. I would buy again.
