Buy once, cry once - Solid Nanuk 990 for AR
The case is similar to Pelican; solid and of great (not high) quality, but you will hear a hiss if you press firmly on the body, which leads me to question the seal installed on the lid. The locking mechanism works and affords you the ability to add two locks to the end corners of the case. The wheels roll smoothly although I have not rolled this on anything other than a smooth surface yet. Of course, please remember this is not a safe. It would almost be the complete opposite of one because it can be rolled away.
A standard 16" AR with optics and BUIS fits in here almost perfectly. The foam ...

High Quality Case
I am very impressed with how strong this case is. After having many Pelican products i am not dissapointed with the quality of the Nanuk at all. I have had multiple Pelican products crack and break. With how this is built, i do not see any cracks forming on the case.
In regards to the cutout. There were many useful cuts that allow you to bring a rifle and a handgun wherever you need. While the cutout is premade, you can easily make some adjustments cuts if your rifle does not fit exactly the way you want.
Overall i am very impressed and will probably be looking at other Nanuk products in the future.

Great for Mil Spec Carbines
The exterior of this case is everything i expect and love from Nanuk.
Wheels, oversized latches that have a built in lock, quality plastic and folding handle.
The interior foam worked for my application but i can see it being problematic for others.
The foam is cut for a carbine stock and a front sight post, so if you have lots of rail accessories or a fixed stock the foam likely wont work for your setup (maybe if you mod it).
I liked the pistol storage cutout and it fit my RMR Glock 17 nicely.
Overall this case works for my need when I go to a carbine class but wouldnt work for my DMR rifle or some of my other AR setups.
