Purchased the 36” and 40”. First of all quality is top notch for the price. Inside is soft and has decent padding. The zippers are heavy duty. These cases should last for a long time. Zipper pouches are handy and so is the shoulder strap. I got these to use for scoped ruger 10/22 and an AR. The 36” will fit an AR with collapsing stock but it will not fit if there is an optic mounted. 40” is what you want for scoped Ruger 10/22. Works great

This case is intended for iron-sighted, or, up to a point, scoped rifles. It's a repeat buy for me; I bought one a few years ago for a multi-generation .22 rifle for one of my grandsons, and it's worked fine for him. This purchase (and probably future ones) is for any of our B92/B53/R92/M94 iron-sighted lever carbines. Initially, I was leery of the accessory pocket being on the "wrong" side, but that hasn't been an issue. There is room in the pocket for an ear-plug case, a bore snake, a small solvent/oil bottle, a rifle bolt, and either a shooting glasses case, a flat 20-round rifle ammo box, a couple boxes of .22, or a .30 Carbine/10-22 sized magazine. There are some positioning straps inside the pocket, but we haven't discovered any particular use for them. There are NO positioning straps inside the case. The case has a good amount of padding, nice two-way zipper pulls, a pair of wrap-around carrying handles, and a decent shoulder strap. The term that keeps occurring to my military mind is "serviceable".
This is not a premium item, but a good basic utilitarian case for a lighter-weight rifle that has iron sights and/or a compact, low-mounted optic. Although it has plenty of padding, we do not believe it would have a good service life as a knock-around, throw-it-in-the-back-of-the-truck item, as the outer shell does not seem to be of a heavy-duty material such as Cordura, but a thinner nylon, but we do consider it a useful kid's, go-to-the-range or loaner case.
Pros:
- Good padding, handles, strap, zippers.
Cons:
- No internal straps, thin shell.
Best Used for:
- Basic case for non-AR rifles.

Through the years I've purchased at least a dozen NcStar rifle cases. I keep buying them for a number of reasons:
They come at a very reasonable price.
The quality is very good.
I have never had a problem with any of the NcStar cases I have bought.
The material from which it's made is strong and resilient.
The padding provides adequate protection to the firearm in normal use.
The zippers have never failed
There is an external pouch on the side great for ammo or accessories.
There is also an external slot with a see-through window in which you could insert a card with your name or what gun is in the case.
Best Used for:
- scoped or unscoped rifles, shotguns

Bought this for my new Ruger Ranch Rifle (1st gen). The 38" case is the perfect size for this compact rifle, with a compact Leupold 1.5-4 scope attached. I've used this same model case for a couple of other rifles I own & have been very happy with them. They are well-made and I like the storage pocket, which can hold a couple of spare mags, ammo, cleaning supplies, etc. OPs price is good, although shipping costs are high! They were the only place I could find the case in desert tan.
Pros:
- Quality construction. Great fit. Price. Storage pouch. Carry strap.
Cons:
- Shipping cost is excessive.
Best Used for:
- Safe transport to range or hunting.

Great gun case and at a price that seems criminally inexpensive. Great quality case. I have one of these exact cases that’s 12 years old, and it’s still in great shape.

Good case for the price. When ordering add a couple inches to length due to padding.

I bought two of these cases for my sons when I gave them both a Henry rifle for Christmas. I couldn't tolerate the thought of them tossing their new rifle into their truck, even behind the seat without protection.
Pros:
- good looking and reasonable priced

Great case with a low price! I wanted a rugged, lightweight, and well fitted case for my Ruger American Ranch in 6.5 Grendel. The 38” model fits the short barrel and the scope perfectly and there’s room for the attached sling (with small pouch for extra magazine) snug but not too tight that it doesn’t want to zip closed. Shoulder strap on the bottom of the case is a must and easily removed. The small exterior pocket holds ear plugs, scope pen, lens wipes, and a few small tools while the large main pocket compartment holds 3 factory boxes (60 rds) of Hornady ammo laid vertically side-by-side and still zips closed with ease! I’m very pleased with the product and remain a fan of OpticsPlanet!
