Two parts don't make one - NCSTAR 3X Magnifier w/Flip to Side QR Mount

The concept is excellent, the implementation not so much. The height is perfect and the functionality of the hinge is easy to use. Given the price the optics are more than acceptable. Setup was straight forward, especially the adjustment for alignment with the red dot.

The quick release was easy to install, unfortunately the problems is with the mount, the hinge tolerances are not close enough to maintain the alignment with the ocular lens shifting up and down a quarter of an inch, which shifts the position of the red dot in the field of view. After 200 .223 rounds the lug that holds the mount in place on the rail fell out at the range and was lost, requiring removal to continue shooting.

This may be due to manufacturing variations, and with the excellent exchange policy from Optics Planet it is worth the try since you have limited risk.
