Fits solid out of box and has no wiggle in conjunction with XTS AR carry handle. (You can shim with black electrical tape otherwise.)
Through hole allows good continued use of irons too. No obstruction.
Haven't noticed any walk out from the mounting screw/nut either. (Use blue Loctite if this is a concern.
And yes, your sight over bore with be 3+ inched with most optics you mount on this. Nothing a good jaw weld cannot overcome. (Another reviewer seemed somehow unaware of this before purchase.)
