Scope mount - NcSTAR M44 / 91 Scope Mount MM44-91

This scope mount is designed to replace a regular rear sight in Mosin rifles and carbines. It is definetely not a drop-in replacement. The width of the mount is significantly smaller than the groove in the rifle and it is not consistent. The 2 mounts I have are different from each other by .010". The last mount I installed was smaller than the groove by .024". In the world of optical alignment it is like a mile. But you can always install shims of the proper thickness and make the mount tight in the groove. This is the only way I know to make this mount stable.

The mount is made out of aluminum alloy and is strong enough to survive a recoil. It is black in color and has 3 screws for elevation adjustment. Only 2 screws shoud be used, but since this mount is universal, you need 3 of them. This is because long rifle and carbine have different rear sight blocks.

The mount will accept a pistol scope only. You will need a big eye relief because of the position of the mount on the rifle.

Overall I am satisfied with this mount and would recommend it to people who are willing to invest time in its installation.
