its either mosin nagant isnt made to attach this mount or this mount doesnt seem to hold on the rifle, its a guaranteed "will fall off the rear sight" when you installed, good service and pricing but very poor designed product.
It fits perfectly
Fits perfectly my Mosin 91/30. Installation without problems: punch out the peg that holds the rear sight ... pull out the spring ... insert provided screws et voila'.

It works
Mounted this on my 91/30. I found this to be a good base for my scope. At first I was going to use it for a red dot, as we can only shoot out to 200 yds, but the mount is too high for this. You can not have a cheek weld while using it. I don't think it is the mounts fault It is probably just the type of rifle it is. As with ALL my scopes, I use blue Locktite on all screws for mounts and rings. The screws to level this were very "touchy". a little turn made a huge difference in level. I just took my time leveling it. I have recommended it to my friends that have 91/30's as well. 14 bucks for a rail/mount it is hard to go wrong.

Comes loose after two shots
Before I used this mount it appeared to be attached securely, but it came loose after two shots. When I attempted to tighten the screws they were stripped. This is one of the cheapest Mosin Nagant mounts available, and now I see why.

M44-91 mount
Easy to install and requires no perminant mods to the rifle. Anyone that knows how to use a punch and turn an allen wrench can install this mount. It is solid and DOES hold its zero. I mounted it with the NcStar LER 2-7. Excellent performance from both items.
