Most Helpful Positive Review Perfect House Gun Sight
I bought this for my house gun (Hi-Point .40 Carbine). It is perfect. After I sighted it at 25 yards and it is RIGHT ON. I put ten holes in a 2 inch circle. Then I did it three more times. The holes were right where the red dot was. The sight never missed. I have a second one mounted on ...

the system wouldn't accept my short review
Pros:
  • Easy to zero at the range
  • Easy to put on and take off

Needs better mounting system

by jerb424, from OK, United States Written on January 5, 2016
This red dot sight is a 5 star sight . Good clear glass . Excellent sized red dot. But mounting hardware is cheaply made and has to be tightened down every 10 or so rounds . Other than that ..... very pleased.
Pros:
  • clear glass
  • Clear dot and glass.
Cons:
  • mounting bracket

Perfect for hogs

by Legacy Reviewer, from WA, United States Written on September 14, 2012
I use this on a 30/30 and I have made about 70-80 shots and I still have a good aim it is everything that I read about I even use it on my shotgun and the thing is steel intact I don't know about you guys but I am very happy with this red dot. The main purpus for this dot is hunting hogs and I go at least 1 weekend a month since I bought this I sited on my 30/30 and I didn't have to sighted again until I put it on my 12g for slugs

good sight, but shakes loose

by Legacy Reviewer, from WA, United States Written on January 2, 2012
Got it for the large view area and small dot. High marks in those areas. The dot doesn't cover up the target, stays very small, and is bright enough in sunlight even on the lower brightness settings. Sighted in quickly. Adjustments click nicely and seem solid. Only problem is that on my 9mm carbine the mounting screws come loose after 10-20 rounds. That rifle doesn't have much recoil. Could be the cheap rail on my rifle is part of the problem, but when I tighten it down I expect it to stay there. Doesn't get loose enough to fall off or anything like that, but definitely has to get tightened every few shots. Once mounted, sighted in, and tightened down, I am able to group shots consistently to my satisfaction. I did not have to sight it in after taking it off and putting it back on, as long as I used the same distance, of course. Note that one of the two mounting screws can be adjusted forward/backward a little bit, giving you a bit of flexibility in mounting.
Pros: small dot, bright dot, large view area
Cons: mounting screws won't stay tight

50/50 on NcSTAR Red Dot

by Legacy Reviewer, from WA, United States Written on July 6, 2011
To be honest I thought that this sight would be powerful enough to shoot in daylight. I was disappointed to say the least. It is very easy to mount, stayed tight during shooting of 50 rounds of .40 ammo. But it has to be nearly a black background to see any target.
Pros: Very easy to use and setup
Cons: Not powerful enough

Not bad so far on my AK-47

by Legacy Reviewer, from WA, United States Written on February 20, 2011
Mouted on a polish milled ak with dph arms quad-rail system. Mounted without problems and kept zero after shooting a couple clips. havent tested battery life yet, hope it's good. Would reccomend for anyone looking for an inexpensive scope for shooting 100 yds. or less.
Pros: Light, BIG, and cheap
Cons: paid $40 not $30
