This thing is pretty cool for the price. The plate carrier features all seem to work as advertised, and even though it says the deployable front carrier can only take soft 3A level plates, it actually fully worked my hard 3+ level steel plate. Steel is a bit heavy for it and make putting it on slightly trickier, but as a solution that can be deployed in an emergency, it is more than adequate.

Let me start by explaining the reason for the purchase: My wife works at the hospital in Tulsa where an active shooter killed 4. I looked for options and wanted something that did NOT look tacticle or military. Something she can carry in, sit beside her desk, hold her lunch or whatever. This was perfect for that. I already had 3A panels that I installed so for $60.00 she now has something with her at all times. No istructions included so It took a few minutes of head scratching to understand the setup because it looked like it would not allow the flip out panel to go into stored position deep enough but it in fact does. The big grommets go over (around) the magnets on the flap and then velcro at the front. It deploys in about a second. My wife was amazed how fast she could have it out and secured. So far no issues with fit, finish or materials and workmanship. There were only a few other options out there like this and they were so much more expensive. Being able to use my own panels is a real plus. My panels fit like a glove. If you want a battle ready vest- thus us not it. If you want a indescreet way of providing 3A protection in an emergency- this is it. Nobody knows it's there. I know I have given her a life saving option she can take anywhere. BONUS: I even contacted TSA and showed them this pack. It is approved for carry on (wear on) by them and small enought to pass any airlines size requirements.
