Most Helpful Positive Review D-2MV Night Vision
Got these NVG's for hunting/operating at night and found they are quite useful. Has a good, clear image with reasonably good light pick up for Gen 1. Dual optic allows for good depth perception making movement, or even operation of a vehicle (four wheeler) with no lights at night possible. Each optic can be individually focused allowing use with firearms. Focus one on your sights, the other on your target, bang. The IR illuminator can be adjusted from flood to spot beam, but is visible which could give away your position. A piece of electrical tape with a slot cut out may reduce signature. Aut...

Great Value

by Airsoft Commando, from KY, United States Written on March 25, 2019
These NVGs are a great for the price and fun for all ages. They offer binocular night vision. Also, these ship with a passable skullcrusher. Additionally they can be used with some red dot sights without too much wash out. They do have drawbacks however. While they can be fitted to a mil spec NVG mount the hardware is not included (would have preferred it to the included head mount). Additionally the tubes are fixed relative to one another.
Pros:
  • GREAT PRICE
  • Decent skull crusher
Cons:
  • Helmet mounting accessories not included
Best Used for:
  • Training
  • Airsoft

Great for those on a budget

by AvidHunter, from NE, United States Written on September 9, 2018
Some background info: I hunt, and was looking for night vision goggles that was under $1,000. The properties I hunt are feeding areas for the game, and I like to be set up in the morning about an hour before shooting time starts. Also, archery season in my area runs from 9/1 to January, and turkey bow season is March thru May so I am definitely in the woods alot. I wanted night vision googles so I can keep noise to a minimum, and I also don't like giving myself away by using a regular flashlight. I have tried red light, but it doesn't light the way well enough for me. Prior to this I had never used night vision before.

I like these goggles but had to make some modifications so I took off one star due to that. As some have noted I do see the fishbowl view a little, but that is the nature of Gen1 from I have read so I didn't mark off for that. It just takes a little getting used to. The IR light that is on the goggles can be seen by the naked eyes when it is on if you are looking at someone else. Also the IR light is a focused beam, and I wanted a wider beam because I am picking my way through woods in the dark and want to see down as well as in front of me. The head gear works fine for me and I haven't had any issues using it. When tightened the straps stabilize the weight of the unit and it doesn't make a sound when I walk. Overall 4 stars for this unit as it is delivered.

My modifications: As noted above, I wanted a wider beam so I started looking for an IR Torch t...

Good product, but needs to include care and use instructions

by Ron, from GA, United States Written on December 11, 2015
Haven't used it much yet, but have enjoyed the couple hours of use thus far. Didn't give it 5 stars because the product came with no instructions, just stuffed into a plastic bag and in the carry case. No paper work of any kind. Looks as if it was plucked off a shelf, shoved in a plastic bag and shipped. User guide, instructions, directions to online instructions... would have been nice.
