Working Well
Pros: I have been using the 7070 for a hunting season attaching the mount to a metal piece on the edge of my hunting window. Each morning when I was sneaking into my box blind I was able to quickly and quietly using the quick release convenience with no lighting on place my camcorder in position. I also had a bushnell window mount available for use but the convenience of the quick release and also it wasn't as tall as the Bushnell mount made quite a difference. High quality, heavy duty window mount
The Nikon window mount is a very high quality, well built window mount that will handle most cameras and spotting scopes. It features a quick release for removing the optics from the mount with a flip of a short handle. The mount itself, remains attached to the window.
The instructions include a precaution about using this product which for me limited its application. It is suggested that one must be careful not to break the window. Part of the restriction includes recommendations not to use the mount while the vehicle is in motion.
There is one additional issue. Although the tripod head swivels 360 degrees horizontally and around 175 degrees vertically, there are no fine adjustments. All adjustments must be done by hand and with a high powered spotting scope, this is not always convenient or effective. However, the adjustments are very positive and the tripod head moves smoothly. The locking mechanisms work as expected and once they are set the tripod head stays put.
