Surprisingly Accurate and Versatile
I bought some Hornady match loads expecting them to be the most accurate of the various loads I was trying. These were the clear winner. And since the bullet type opens up more use cases, these are my new favorite. I think if you were shooting extremely long shots the match loads might overtake these for accuracy, but I will never know since I can't hit anything out that far.
Pros:
- Accurate
- Affordable
- Versatile
Cons:
- None
Best Used for:
- hunting
- Tactical
- maybe match

Whitetail hammer
I have taken 5 deer in the last 2 years with the Norma Whitetail last year 4 with 7-08 and tonight one with the 6.5 PRC. Ranges have varied from 30 yards to 205. None of the deer made it 40 yards and 3 dropped in place. Absolutely incredible ammo. It has been accurate from my rifle on steel out past 500 yards though I would not attempt that range on an animal unless I had a solid range and perfect wind.
Pros:
- accuracy
- Lethality
Cons:
- Availability
Best Used for:
- Medium game at reasonable distances

My Bergara likes this ammo up to 300 yards
This Norma factory ammo shoots consistently with <10 fps St Dev when chronographed in 75 degree temp. Very impressed. Have not shot it beyond 300 yards yet.
Yesterday, i did notice a higher Std Dev among chronographed groups shooting it for the first time in temperatures below 50 degrees and in the rain.
Overall, very good value for my gun.

Softer than expected recoil; exceptional accuracy.
I haven't purchased much Norma ammunition, but 6.5 PRC is not as popular as other calibers and a lot of places (including Optics Planet) stock Norma in 6.5 PRC. The price was reasonable too.
This is soft point (exposed lead tip) ammunition; which is to say it has somewhat of a blunt tip (not a sharp aero tip). My rifle really likes this ammo, as it was shooting sub-MOA groups with it. Felt recoil was noticeably softer with this ammo compared to another brand I shot the same day, which makes sense considering Norma only loads these to produce a 2887 ft/sec muzzle velocity with a 140gr bullet (according to box label data).
The brass case and copper jacket of the bullet appear to be made of high quality metals. Primers are not crimped, and no sealant was used on the primers or the bullets.
