Most Helpful Positive Review A must have for tuning an AR .308 Carbine
First, the Odin AR-10 adjustable buffer is the correct length — 2.5” — if you are using a standard AR-15 Carbine buffer tube (interior length ~6 15/16”). Much of the time when an AR .308 Carbine has cycling issues, it is due to using the wrong buffer and/or spring. If your build uses a standard AR-1...

Most Helpful Negative Review Didn't work for my applicatio.
I attempted to install this in a PSA PA-10 but this buffer is WAY SHORTER than the "H" buffer that Palmetto uses. I know that AR-10 models have almost no standards mfg. to mfg. so I wasn't surprised. Disappointed, yes, because it seems like a good product. I will try the AR-15 model adjustable buffe...

set screw issue

by Shablam, Verified Owner from UT, United States Written on April 28, 2025
I put this in my aero m5, after 70 rounds unfortunately the capture bolt backed out, it did not cause a malfunction or release the weights. While I broke down after the range day for cleaning, I realized the set screw was not securing the capture bolt. Range application currently, I will re torque set screw and try again. Currently wouldn’t recommend.

Exactly what I needed.

by Jay, Verified Owner from AZ, United States Written on June 5, 2024
So I like to build my own guns. This went into a Genesis gen 12. The issue I had with a standard buffer was that the bolt was able to just impact my buffer before the standard buffer would impact the bottom of the buffer tube. The standard buffer length is 2.5 in. This buffer is 2.59 in. That little bit of extra length made all the difference. My bolt is no longer able to impact my buffer tube and is still able to be locked back. This thing is the perfect length for an AR-10 carbine.

Recommend only for ar-10

by One handed shooter, from OK, United States Written on April 3, 2024
Odin woks buffers are stainless steel and to heavy even without weights installed. Which is why I only recommend their ar-10 buffer and for other heavy recoil calibers bers(450-b / 50-ae). It’s also a pia to open and close. There is a top bolt and a side screw requiring two different allen wrenches. Will constantly require retightening. I don’t want to imagine what will happen if one or both come loose while using!
Pros:
  • Heavy Steel Construction
Cons:
  • Bolts and stews, steel construction may be to heavy for some applications
Best Used for:
  • Heavy recoil calibers (308 / 450-b / 50-ae)

Odin Works AR10 Adjustable Buffer

by kwest, Verified Owner from KY, United States Written on February 27, 2024
The product came in nice packaging with easy to read instructions. I was looking at dofferent buffers that would give me some adjustability but not cost me $200. This fit my needs perfectly. I can't wait to get it in the range and get my rifle dialed in.
