appears solid
After watching a few reviews online I decided that Guard Dog would be a good value for my first set of plates. I haven’t selected a carrier just yet but the quality of these OpMOD plates seems pretty solid. I like the coating that is supposed to reduce shrapnel but there is quite a strong chemical s...

China Good?
While based in the Carolinas, Guard Dog Armor Plates are manufactured in China. This makes me weary of them, but I can't carry around steel plates anymore and definitely can't afford USA made NIJ Certified plates, so I'm taking a chance. I guess I'm betting on my life?
Lightweight/Level 4
Solid armor and lightweight (I think just a hair over 5lbs). Paired them with the GuardDog Sheppard Plate Carrier. Cannot miss with this. Will be buying more.
Pros:
- value
- Lightweight
Cons:
- None

Great price compared to others.
Fits well in my ARMR UNLMT’D plate carrier. It does not feel heavy to wear.

Ordered this for my new JPC 2.0, absolutly love them. This is a value based upgrade! Saved weight!
I have had a few 5.11 TacTac plate carriers with Steel plates that I train with- but this year I ordered a JPC 2.0 and love it, and ordered these for it.
I went from 25-26lbs in the 5.11 with steel plates to 18lbs in the JPC 2.0 with these level 4's
They fit super snug, but you almost forget they are there. 10/10 I would recommend these for anyone looking for a value and weight-based Level 4 upgrade.
I kept my steel ones in the 5.11's for training hard, while these I do not slam or toss around to take better care of them.
I would absolutely buy them again, 100% VERY PLEASED.

absolutely what I was not expecting
This product is amazing. It fits securely in all of my vests it’s a thick sturdy plate that was packed with care, the weight was also unexpected. I thought it would be much heavier It’s only around 6 pounds.
Pros:
- Sturdy
- unexpectedly lightweight
Cons:
- A too little thick
- Coating is slippery
Best Used for:
- physical protection against high velocity, projectiles, or fragmentation
Would recommend: Yes
Can't be the price..
Quality product ,definitely ordering another.. Fit and finish on par with higher priced plates.
Best Used for:
- Personal protection
Would recommend: Yes

Grear afforded plates
The plates are a bit thick but feels good inside the carrier. I hv done some research on the brand and plate itself. It takes a multiple shot from a 308.
Pros:
- price and weight
Cons:
- Thickness
Would recommend: Yes

Guard dog plates
These plates are three times as thick as i was hoping for they wont even come close to fitting any of my plate carriers. very heavy as well i guess i didn't double check the
product weight so that's on me. the coating and logo seems solid on the plates but regardless i only gave them two stars because of the joy i will get from shooting these plates rather then wearing them :)
