The plates are lite weight and thick. I’ve used other plates(ar500) and I find them heavy and way too thin for my liking. I would 100% buy again!!!!

The coating on the plates seems defective. There is a huge air bubble on the front of the plates making them too thick to fit in a plate carrier. Hopefully I can warranty with Guard Dog body armor.

The plates are as described and are lighter than steell. It’s a needed and appreciated product. Quick shipping and well packed. Hopefully they will never need to be tested. Thank you.

The ballistic material on these plates only start 1/2" to 3/4" in from the edges so they really have at most just 9" x 11" of ballistic protection not 10" to 12" ballistic protection the are advertised as.
They say "OPTICSPLANET MODIFICATION" on the front of the plates which I could not see in the add for them and I wonder how they were modified from regular Guard Dog OPMOD plates.
The anti-spall material on the plates is very thin. They should have put a lot thicker anti-spall material on the strike face of the plates.
They do not say made in USA on them anywhere so I hope the ballistic plates were not made by the Chi-Coms.
OpticsPlanet shipped them real quick but they did not use enough tape on the thin cardboard of the box which was coming open when it got it.

This plate is light and tapered in all the right places. Fits my PC nicely.

Review of plates, I’m honestly hoping to never need to see how well they work. They appear to be well made and while a little heavier than I expected they are far lighter than my steel plates. I would say they are a quality product worth the price.

Prepped and getting ready for turbulent times should they arrive civilian here. These are my first plates and so far I have no complaints. They arrived quickly and the price was too good to not get them. I have the Guard Dogs paired with trauma pads from AR500 (armored republic) and in their (AR500) Testudo gen 3 plate carrier. These plates fit EXTREMELY snug into the respected pockets. When I say snug I mean like almost impossible to get in snug. This is my first body armor set up and maybe they are all that tight of a fit, but I think they were a little thicker then what the PC was made to actually hold. However once I got them in they work as they should in regards to what they are covering and so forth. I was also impressed with how light they are. At first glance you would think that the Guard Dogs would be quite heavy, due to their thickness, but that is simply not the case. I haven’t been shot while wearing them yet, but if they work well enough to let me write about the experience god forbid it happens, I will update the review. Overall happy with the price, how quickly I received them and how they feel while wearing them.
