Jake's Review of SIG SAUER OPMOD ROMEO7 1x30mm 2 MOA Reflex Red Dot Sight
I was completely undecided on what optic to run on my Aero pistol build until I saw this. Finding FDE optics is hard enough and the OpMod was a great choice. The glass appears to be a true 1X with no visible distortion. The “shake awake” feature is something I’ve grown to love coming from Holosun. To see that feature on a sub $250 optic is fantastic. I typically use open reflex sights so going back to a red dot was worrisome. However, this optic make acquiring the dot quickly very easy. There is a ton brightness adjustment.
The mounting system is very rigid, with built in recoil lugs. The instructions don’t explain how to tighten the QD mount. Mine was a hair loose when I first installed it. You tighten it by removing the optic, pushing in on the QD lever side and spinning the knob on the opposite side, much like how you install an AR-15 magazine release.
This is a great optic for the price point and I’m very happy with it. The FDE color is a bit on the lighter side but it’s only noticeable in direct light. I’d say it’s more of a Magpul FDE tone.
