vortex defender st opmod is great

I’ve become a big fan of the vortex defender series of optics. The opmod version is a little cheaper sometimes and is the same exact optic with maybe a different finish. I have several vortex defender optics, a few open emitter and a few closed emitter. Haven’t had a problem yet, but if I do I know vortex has the best warranty in the business. I’ve shot these optics on everything from 9mm, 10mm, and .45 acp handguns to rifles. They work every time.

Pros:

a little more budger friendly, excellent performance, warranty second to non

dot is not the crispiest

concealed carry
target shooting, home defense

Great optic, easy to use, nice big window, dot gets super bright. Can’t beat the vortex warranty, Has everything you need out of the box with screws and even a picatinny mount.

One very good option

I have run a lot of top end very expencive optics that Ive had problems seeing in brite sun light.
latley I noticed them getting hazey. I found the defender at matches the optic seem very brite in sunny
condistions and the large window is a plus . Also if watch for sales you can get these at a very reasonable cost
I use the XL at my USPSA matchs and the defender is just a bit smaller. Value , cost ease of use make these optics
A great value. Time will tell but I love them and have started to change out my more expenceive red dots.
The only reason I give 4 stars is I must see how they hold up to hard use.

Perfect Product

Large Window, easy installation, simple enough for a dummy like me to use. Had a very simple time zeroing it, and it came with enough hardware to mount it on any platform. Would recommend over a higher-dollar product any day.

Looks good on M18

Got it to put on either the M17 or 18. It honestly looks good a fits well on both without a bunch of open margins. Put 300 through the M17 with it installed and it held zero just fine. Took it off and installed on the M18 same range trip and it functioned perfectly. May get another just to have.

Got this for my FDE M&P M2.0 full size and it fits perfect. Color is a perfect match also. I know color doesn't affect the operation of the pistol but I'm just a stickler for stuff to match. Very happy with my purchase. Dot was easy to setup. �� hoping the defender ccw enclosed comes out in FDE soon for my ccw. ��
