First of all, my setup,
I have a 10.5 inch Stern upper, and a LRB AR15 milspec. lower and a Stern 9mm mag well adapter. I have a Rugged 3 lug muzzle device and adapter for my Rugged Obsidian 9. I’ve never really been impressed by this can. I always thought that it was mediocre on sound suppression and has fairly high back pressure. It was very gassy. Full disclosure, I am running a Breek Sledgehammer charging handle. And up until yesterday, a standard carbine spring with a 10 oz. buffer. Well, I finally bit the bullet, and bought this 8 oz. roller delay system, by Maxim Defense. Frankly, I am completely blown away, at its complete performance I have 10 suppressors, with 6 being rimfire. I’ve pretty much not used my Obsidian for a year. It was just so unimpressive to me, that I lost interest. So much so, that I was seriously considering buying a PTR Vent 2. That’s now changed I am sticking with this setup. There was no detectable gas in my face. Port pop is undetectable as well. It’s definitely hearing safe I couldn’t imagine how much quieter it could be with the CAT MOB or the PTR Vent 2. I’m betting that since it all but eliminated the port pop, it would even work very well with a linear comp. I almost forgot, there’s a huge reduction in recoil. It shoots incredibly smooth.
