datshooter's Review of OpticsPlanet Exclusive RISE Armament RA-240 Gen 2 Enhanced Rifle Trigger
Reviewed well, and installed fast. My first 100 rounds were fine and then I started getting random light primer strikes. If I re-ran the ammo no problem. I thought a bad batch of primers from a lot I bought, but expereinced this across the 3 different brands I run. This gun has never had a single problem until I dropped in this trigger. Until today I would have bet my life on this gun, no joke, this AR10 fired every round no matter what and hit its target. We are talking well over 10k rounds through this platform and not a single failure until today.
I cleaned, and I lubed. It appeared when I cycled the weapon by hand it would fire. It started at say 1 in 30 rounds and then quickly within a session to 1 in 7 or 10 that wouldn't fire.
Swapped out my mil spec trigger. Gun fired like a champ. I dropped in a geissele trigger and dropped 100 rounds in a session of 308 without an issue. I just ordered another from optics to swap into this gun.
This might strike hard enough for 556 but at this point even my gun shop says to avoid rise armament. Apparently they're known to be really iffy and the words used to describe this by folks who know better weren't flattering. Last thing I want is a gun that doesn't fire. Don't waste your money or worse risk your life to a faulty product like this. Spend the extra money or stay mil spec. Its honestly not worth it. I had 2 bad range days, hardly worth the $100 'saved' and failure within 300 rounds is completely unacceptable.
