Most Helpful Positive Review Economical Power
This is a low-cost; light-weight; high-power rifle scope. I mounted mine on a Barrett M82A1, .50 cal Rifle. No issues with mounting. The scope holds up with the shock of a mighty .50 cal. I'm a novice with sighting in rifle scopes and it did not take long for me to sight this scope in to 100 yard...

Most Helpful Negative Review Three Problems
Problem #1: Eye Relief inconsistent and off to side, very difficult to get a proper target picture with the example I received. I'm an experienced shooter and know what I'm doing. The problem is inside the optics. Problem #2: Reticle colors bleed into each other and are inconsistent, ever...

Osprey TA104050MDG

by Tanker Ray, Verified Owner from OH, United States Written on January 7, 2016
I selected this scope because I have owned another one of this exact model (on a .308 Win) since 2011 and really liked it (especially since I obtained it for ~ half the price of this one). I ordered this scope for a AR-15 build in .223. The scope that I received had the same model number as the one I already owned and all of the specifications here (except the pictures) are correct and accurate to the best of my knowledge. However, there are several differences that I will point out here. First, the picture is of the early design, not the design that I received. Specifically, the diameter of the turrets are smaller on the new one (my 2011 model measures 1.32" and this one measures 1.00" and the side-focus knob measures 1.32" on my 2011 model and 1.45" on this one), the reticle has longer black bars and the MIL-Dots are smaller and closer together than the picture indicates. On my 2011 model the black bars in the reticle extend ~1/2 of the distance from the outer edge of view to the center, on this scope, these same black bars extend 2/3 to 3/4 of the distance from the outer edge to the center of the scope. This situation pushes the Mil-Dots closer together and they are also noticeable smaller in diameter. There are 4 Mil-dots on each side of the center as the picture indicates. Again, the pictures in the description are from the early model, not the one that was shipped to me. The biggest downside that I've found is the the MOA per turret revolution. On my 2011 mod...

Top Notch for the Price Point

by HellFire1, Verified Owner from FL, United States Written on March 24, 2015
I installed this on my Saiga AK47 and used it at the range. I'm up to 100 yards and it is zero'ed in and accurate. I like the ease of use and the turrets are larger and easy to manipulate. Lens covers are easily removable and you can use the rear lens cover as a sun deterrent. Yes, I like this scope and for the price it is top notch. I'll rachet it up to 200 yards next week. I'm expecting the same results.

Good Buy!

by Legacy Reviewer, from SC, United States Written on April 7, 2014
I've used this scope at 100, 200, & 300 yds.. After two outings to the range I am satisfied and have proved to myself that unless I'm going to spend at least four times the money I did the right thing buying an Osprey. The windage, elevation and parallax adjustments are smoother than my more expensive scope of similar power. The optics are nice and clear.
Pros: Clear Optics and great price
Cons: lens Covers poor

Great for the price!

by Legacy Reviewer, from WA, United States Written on September 22, 2011
I have had it, and used it a lot over the last year. The 10-40 x 50 is just what thay say it is, I was very pleased, and suprized. I shoot along side very expenseve scopes at long ranges with my AR platform cal.308 and I am very happy that I did not spend the extra money. Have not found any thing better with this much power, and is very clear at 40 power!

I use this scope on my AR-15 & it does really good for bullseye shooting. It's a bit large for something like 3 Gun matches, IMO. Nice clarity & well worth the price by a long stretch.
Pros: Value
Cons: None really.

Osprey Good scope but not Great Scope

by Legacy Reviewer, Written on December 18, 2010
Overally I think this scope is a good deal for the money. It has a super warranty. Now I am not comparing it to a Leupold cause it is not in the same class. I am comparing it to the other low priced scopes. My scope rings were very good and not that far off center even after clamping to a one inch riser on an M4 16" 1/7 twist rifle. It is a little hard to get the eye relief exact. Very narrow range for eye relief. Lens caps are kind of worthless. Resolution is better than average low end scopes like swift and tasco and coatings have good glare resistance. I compared resolution to three other scopes and it beat them, however it was +1x higher in power then the 9x variables which did not have AO. The side AO or parallax adjustment makes it very crisp all the way up to 38x where it goes fuzzy. It also looks pretty cool on top of an AR15 platform. Passes the cool look test. Scope is almost as long as barrel but not that heavy. Seems very durable. Turrets click nicely. Have not checked to see if POI changes when going back and forth with turret adjustments but after 50 rounds it is not all screwed up either. If you want one step up go to Nikon Buckmaster. If you want comparable try Mueller.
Pros: Price and durability
Cons: Starts to blur at 38x.

Pretty decent scope for the $$, IMO. It's certainly not a Nikon but it's much, much better than the others in its class such as BSA, Burska, etc.
Pros: Inexpensive, decent glass for the $.
Cons: None so far.
