This style of Pachmayr grip is somewhat smaller than the others. the open rear means no material between your hand and blackstrap. this translates to shorter reach to trigger. If you have short stubby fingers like I have, this is a big help. Definitely aids in controlling the revolver during rapid fire.

Not a perfect fit but given how long Smith has been making revolvers that would be impossible
They fit my hands very well just hand filling enough to be comfortable but still concealable.
I have used Pachmayr grips since the mid 80's

I have used Pachmayr grips on different pistols and revolvers over the years with positive results. Not perfect, but good working grips at a good price. Also, having purchased from Opticsplanet before, I felt comfortable in taking a chance on changing grips on a working carry L frame roundbutt revolver. These grips fit perfectly, with no special adjustments needed especially for using Speed Strips and Loaders with this revolver. Also, these grips answered the issue of a grip adapter along with narrower grips. The narrower grips work better with plainclothes carry while still being comfortable on the range and gripping in general. I am pleased with these grips and will recommend them to others looking for a good working set of grips.

I love my 642, but that bottom of trigger guard kinda got me. New grips from pachmayr. Perfect now. I hope they come out with the same approach for the Kimber K6. I never had a problem with Pachmayr. They work very well.

I have small hands and honestly, this grip fits like a glove. It also is a fantastic grip to reduce printing significantly for concealed carry. You just can't top it. The look, the feel, the Pachmayr quality, and the applicability for concealed carry are bar none, five stars.
Pros:
- Comfortable
- Very compact
- Lowers Perceived Felt Recoil

Purchased these grips as a replacement for my M60 S&W. They help with recoil and look good doing it. I shopped around a bit and found that OpticsPlanet offered the best price available. The item was shipped/received very quickly. Customer service was available and friendly. Highly recommended!

This product is intended for concealed carry L frame S&Ws, but I needed it to reach the trigger on my Model 69 Combat Magnum. I love everything about the .44 Combat Magnum, but the grips were just a bit too large. I have medium sized hands, and the fit is excellent. The factory grips had me pulling hard to the right, but the Pachmayr grips bring me right in line with my forearm. Understandable that S&W would supply an L frame .44 Mag with big cushy grips, but I only shoot .44 Special. The open back strap doesn't present a recoil problem for me. I appreciate the lack of finger grooves. The fit on the frame is very good. A bit of flash trimming was required, but I've come to expect this of rubber grips. No extra trimming is required to fit the speed loaders, and I've come to expect that, too.

I am and NRA pistol instructor and teach a diverse group of students. By having this grip along with other grip styles allows me to provide a wide range of samples for my student to handle and be comfortable when shooting. If a student picks up one of the revolvers I supply and feels the grip is to large then I can have them feel and use the other revolver with this grip installed.
Pros: easy install
