I bought this recoil pad because of the "punishing" I got when shooting my 300 Win Mag at the range. While somewhat effective in reducing felt recoil, after a couple of hundred rounds I found myself wanting a separate recoil pad for my Weatherby's buttstock. The combination works great!

Recoil "not a simple cure"
I have only used this once shooting a 30-06 at the range. It was not easy to get this into a comfortable and effective position, therefore I still got bruised. I will try it again in the future and be more mindful of positioning and will hopefully get better results from this product.
