The removal and installation of the new trigger went pretty well when I fired it there was no more pre travel there was no more drag I wasn't flinching anymore because of the dragging before it fired it's just night and day difference I would recommend this to anyone that has this gun I know it's an older model but I love this gun I shoot way better I also got the gas pedal for the takedown lever it's a different grip still getting used to it I think I'll like it.

Wow!! Totally transformed my XD and was very easy to do. There is a metal part you’ll have to file, but be patient and don’t file too much. You also have to file the back over the trigger a little too, again… it doesn’t take much! Instructions come with the kit and the company has instructional videos on YouTube as well. I followed the video and everything went smooth. Took the thing to the range after and not only does the it work but I thought I was starting to think I was Lucas Botkin for a moment.

I bought this to improve the trigger action on a Springfield XD-40 Service Model. The install was easy enough and the new trigger action is certainly very short with little take up. Be aware that instructions and labelling of components is non-existent so YouTube is your installation friend! The components with a daub of blue (striker and trigger spring) are the competition components and give the lightest pull (and possibly an underpowered striker spring).

I experienced two problems, firstly the trigger safety pre-installed in the trigger doesn't reset when the trigger resets, you need to manually push the safety lever back into its reset position. This doesn't prevent use of the gun but it means the trigger safety is not preventing the trigger from being depressed as intended. The second problem is serious and at time of writing remains unresolved. The very short trigger action is not sufficient to lower the seer block enough to release the striker, so the gun won't fire. I tried everything I can think of short of filing down the striker release block which I'm not willing to do for a drop in trigger kit. Its currently with a gunsmith to try and resolve (probably doubling the cost of this trigger!).

I will add that my XD-40 Service Model is one of the first generations of this model from the 2000's. My suspicion is the this trigger kit was designed to work with later generations only and not for the original generation. So, be cautious if you have an older gener...
