Excellent Muzzle Adapter
Did the trick. Almost bought a cheapo adapter from Amazon but glad I didn't. Spend the extra money (its not much more) and get a quality thread adapter from Precision Armament. Made of quality steel and not some pot metal part made in China. Bore alignment was perfect, should be no problem for use with a suppressor. Would not hesitate to buy again.
Precision Armament Adapter 1/2x28 to 5/8x24
Great quality fit and finish! The Weatherby Model 307 Range XP 308 comes with a 1/2x28 threaded barrel. There aren't many 30cal Muzzle Device options available in 1/2x28. The Precision Armament Thread Adapter did exactly what I needed. Highly recommended for other Weatherby Model 307 Owners.
Pros:
- Simple and Effective at a reasonable cost.
Cons:
- None
Best Used for:
- Best used for Muzzle Brake Options and Supressor setups.

thread adapter
Best bang for the $$. Consistent everytime. A must have for the thin sporter barrels.

Worked for a while....
This adapter worked... for about 26 months. Even upon installing it, I wondered if it was sturdy enough to last (relatively thin metal versus the 'outer' styles), especially on a 308 (muzzle brake). A few weeks ago, I was testing a new load and on only the fifth shot for the day, it sheared off inside the barrel (about two threads in) and threw the muzzle brake into my chronograph (Competition Electronics DLX, purchased from OP). Thankfully I'd purchased the lexan shield (also from OP) and it saved my chronograph. I've used the heavier 'outer' adapters before (i.e. Kaw Valley, Aim7, etc) for years on other rifles and they've never failed - especially like this. Thus, I ordered and installed the Kaw Valley adapter. Just my insight, YMMV. Good luck...
Pros:
- Worked for a while
Cons:
- Failed after two years
Best Used for:
- Muzzle thread adapter

works perfectly
Finish matches my stainless barrel and allowed me to mount my suppressor. And is true. No baffle strikes.

Nice adapter, beware no threads near shoulder
Very well machined. Just be aware that it has a flat (no threads) section around .075" long near the shoulder. It's supposedly for better alignment for long muzzle devices, but it's value is dubious and it will interfere with some muzzle devices -- anything that's threaded all the way to the end. I used shims as a temporary measure to get one of my brakes to securely attach.

Compact. Nice fit and finish. Well made. No can strikes while using

Thread FIX
Got a barrel that has this odd thread it solves the problem with lack of available options. Now able to install a desired style brake. And yes they are concentric threads and alignment is good.
Pros:
- Got a barrel the had
- Allows options
Cons:
- None
Best Used for:
- Adapting to a more useful thread pitch
Would recommend: Yes
