When you get this, the notch on the top will be flush with the rod. You'll need to loosen the set screw on the side to get it to come out. Then screw in the set screw and allow the tab to sit on top. When you slide it into the receiver, it will also secure itself to the receiver from rotating ag...

Broke during first use
I didn't even have this for three days before it broke while trying to remove barrel nut from ar10. I don't recommend this for removing barrel nuts at all. Unless you're building a new rifle. So buy with caution just a heads up.
It works ok.
It gets the job done, but its engagement was a little looser than I expected. It had some play both directions when tightening the barrel nut.

Used this for my LR308 build, works well with my Aero M5 upper. .936 is the ID of the channel for the charging handle. The torque block on the rod fits in the channel if .936 or less, block also sinks into the rod if needed.
Pros:
- Price
- works well
Cons:
- None

The Best Assist for My Upper
I was wanting something to be able to put a death grip on my upper while removing/replacing my barrel nut or muzzle brake. I found what I needed and paid a great price! Why pay more when you get what you need for less.

does the job
I bought this and was a little worried about the construction of it. I wouldn’t use it to remove a super stick barrel nut, but for install of new barrels it works fine.
Pros:
- Price
Cons:
- Aluminum
Would recommend: Yes
No locking mechanism
I figured this would be fine, since I just needed to replace a muzzle device. It works, but the lack of a locking mechanism like others means that the upper moves and doesn’t stay in place. It’s fine for a muzzle device, but I wouldn’t use this to install a barrel.

Presma AR-15 .223 Barrel Vise Block Rod
Excellent product. Does exactly what it was intended to do without any issues or excess cost of unneeded features. Highly recommended. Do not hesitate because it is made from aluminum and not steel, it is hardened aluminum and hard coat annodized so it is more than sturdy enough for the intended job. A great product!
Pros:
- High Quality, reasonable cost.
Cons:
- None
Best Used for:
- Barrel install and removal.
