Most Helpful Positive Review Very light, can be tight fit for shorter barrels.
Don’t buy if you plan on tucking a suppressor inside on a shorter barrel. Otherwise great fit and finish, light weight and includes barrel nut. Great price, not my favorite hand guard but a good value.
Most Helpful Negative Review You get what you pay for
I bought the 7in handguard and installed on a Anderson upper for a 9mm PCC build with 8in barrel. The pictanny rail is a little wider than the Anderson rail, was a little difficult to install the front back up sight. You will need a dedicated wrench or crows foot to torque down the barrel nut. Would not index

by vr430, Verified Owner from TX, United States Written on February 1, 2025
I do not know if it is my upper or the barrel, but nut would not index correctly with provided shims. It was either too much or too little. It seems a shim with half the width would do the trick, but alas, it is not included. This setup may work for some, it does not work for me, hence low rating and recommendation. In the future I will try and stay away from anything that requires shims to work - too much hassle and not enough flexibility.

Immediately Sliced My Finger Open

by davidheart, Verified Owner from PA, United States Written on January 16, 2025
This seemed like a great handguard as a decent price so I ordered it. It was the last component I needed to complete my build so I was excited to use this handguard. When it came in the mail I immediately took it out of the box to install on my AR and it sliced my trigger finger wide open. Not a small slice mind you, I mean serious, blood pouring, running along my hand and dripping on the floor if I took the pressure off it would continue to gush slice. I absolutely couldn't believe it! Never in my life have I dealt with something like this from just simply handling a part. The cuts for the picatinny rail were made so thin, at the edges they're like a razor if you apply any sort of slide or pressure. Now imagine you have a rifle you're holding, maneuvering at the range or wherever, and you slide your hand down the handguard to switch position or release the magazine, whatever, and your bleeding all over the place for no reason! This was so sharp I didn't even feel it until it was gushing. It was wild and I wasn't sure if I would need stitches. After about 30 minutes of very firm pressure and bloody paper towels the bleeding finally slowed to a trickle. I call the manufacturer to kindly let them know what happened and the guy on the phone didn't seem concerned at all. "What do you want me to do about it?" And I just told him, "I don't want anything, Optics Planet is handling this for me, but they told me to call you and inform you so y'all could check your product line." And h...

Good quality hand hmgaurd.

by Robbie, Verified Owner from SC, United States Written on August 3, 2024
I really like this hand gaurd. It took a good bit of trial and error with different torque settings and number of shims to get the rail lined up. But I like it. Just the look I was trying to get for my new blackout build. I recommend this product.
