Most Helpful Positive Review Great Optic At A Great Pricew
For those of you who want a Trijicon ACOG but can't afford the $1200+ price tag the Primary Arms 5X Prism Scope is a fantastic substitute at only $280. Mounted the P.A scope on my M4 (16" barrel) because I was not happy with the accuracy of an unmagnified red dot at 50-100 yard ranges. My only conce...

Most Helpful Negative Review 5X prism scope review
Quality built scope, crystal clear glass and heavy duty mounting system, unfortunately I had to return it and replaced it with a 1-6x24 primary arms scope. The reticle on the 5X is so small I could not read the range estimator and I could barely see the distance numbers. It's too bad because if the ...

miniscule reticle

by Dingo, Verified Owner from MT, United States Written on March 10, 2026
The pictures on the site, even though they are dressed in a circle to like like the actual view through the eyepiece, are very misleading, the actual reticle is very small and unlegible, should either just be the light up center point or made to the proportions shown in the picture. Seems very solid, but the reticle ends up looking like a lot of scratches and smudges.

Chinese Junk

by Sam, Verified Owner from AZ, United States Written on January 8, 2026
I bought this on super sale a few years ago and used it once. It's heavy, has horrible relief and minimal magnification. After that one use I came home, pulled it off my rifle and reinstalled BUIS. Spend your $$ on a nice optic. This thing is junk.
Pros:
  • None
Cons:
  • Heavy
  • Poor magnification
  • Poor Relief

  • junk bin

Great fixed power prism scope

by DJT, Verified Owner from MI, United States Written on September 2, 2025
I as actually had the slx 5x micro prism which i reluctantly brought and didnt like the afterthought engineering idea on how to add a red dot using the 12oclock mount and ended up returning it and got this 5x36 which has the picatinny rail built-in which works way better if you intend on mounting a red dot. Although this one is quite a bit heavier and doesn't have the instant on feature, it sits much lower, is more stable and looks like it should as opposed to the micro prism which wasn't really designed to accommodate a red dot effectively.

5x fixed mag

by JRJ, Verified Owner from TX, United States Written on August 15, 2025
For a ar platform I dont believe I'll ever go back to a variable VP scope again. I noticed on my last red dot that I always used the magnifier.wha have the magnifier when I can have the whole package and more in one unit. Cristal clear retical. The prism is definitely the way to go for clarity
Pros:
  • Clarity of sight pic.
Cons:
  • Battery Life
Best Used for:
  • all around

ACOG COMPARABLE, just heavier

by M, Verified Owner from NC, United States Written on May 7, 2025
I got this optic because with the larger objective lens the glass clarity seems to be on par with an ACOG. The smaller primary arms “microprisms” 5x does not let enough objective light in, but this does and when combined with the fact that it is build like a tank, I can recommend!

Paying more for the name

by daemon6, from KY, United States Written on February 24, 2025
Would cost quite a bit less to buy the Trybe Optics 5x36 Prism Scope. Exactly the same scope in every way, but the cost. The Trybe is nearly $100 less. Other than that the spec's are precisely the same because, well it's the same scope. As the title suggests you're paying more for the Primary Arms name...clear as day. Have a good one
