Flexaroo's Review of Pro Mag Archangel 700 Precision Rifle Stock / Remington 700
If you shop for a stock long enough you will see that this is a very cheap buy. The receiver dropped in and mounted just fine and the barrel is completely free floating. However, the stock is not uniform and there is a non-symmetrical gap along the barrel underneath the stock and it just looks cheap. The receiver itself is a snug fit and the screws threaded in just fine. The magazine catch did not catch the magazine so I had to use a Dremel tool to grind down the magazine catch after I disassembled it from the stock. Last downside to this stock is the bipod. It is non-adjustable and sticks inside of the stock itself and you have to pry it out with a tool. It is very cheap and sits crooked so the gun is not level while on the bipod. The upside to the stock is obviously the price and the ability to adjust the cheek pad and the butt stock for trigger pull length. If you are going to do any kind of serious target shooting I would recommend staying away from this cheap piece of plastic and get something of real quality.
Pros:
- Price, ergonomic, adjustable to shooter
- Price, ergonomic, adjustable to shooter, QD mount ready
Cons:
- Bipod is near useless, non-symmetric looks yucky, mag catch needs ground down, no standard bipod mount
Best Used for:
- Anything besides looking attractive and needing a good bipod
